Hi Homer, Dont worry bout the few drinks, I want the 5 hours back for my memory sake & my sleep factor.. Silly move with a newborn inda house, I forgot how much sleep you don't get..!!
Was a good fun night to, I'm still having nightmares bout a cetain character doing a nude truffle shuffle on his front lawn when we dropped him off..

Uncy Mick- Same bloody thing!! thanks for Geography lesson tho
1 dayers for you tomorrow, how you going to manage only bowling 7 overs?? will they let you bowl 7 with the right arm so you don't get to grumpy?

Re: CMCA- Ommies to remain in top grade

Hahaha.... you're not hard to wind up, old boy.

Not sure what you're on about with the 1 day comment. I made the club win the toss and bat one short so that I could bowl this weekend. Similar to East Sandy having sub fielders for LD & Duds in Longmuir.

Re: CMCA- Ommies to remain in top grade

To Jimmy, good work on sen last night.
Got a shoke when i was on my way home and heard the word cmca, i had to check the channel as i thought it was on 88.3.
Any publicity is good publicity your doing a great job, i wonder if your side kick will get a run next time. Just poke him with a stick to wake him up.

Flav good work with the geography lesson Burg needed to get his facts right, are you able to teach me english and grammar lol.
Good luck with tomorrow i reckon we are washed out for sure after the rain we just had, we needed it.
Played on the worst turf wicket in my life last week the ball was jagging side ways, and thats when i thought SYNTHETIC is all right.

who are the bats that will make the most runs this year? the best bowler debate has run its course

nominations for mine:
harris, anostopolous and bunting from elwood
krotofil from mackie
mikkelson and merrifield from ana
duddy from esbc
amoore from centrals
pickering from washington
pothitos from union

who have been the best bats over the past 10 years?

it pains me to say it but pitt has been the best over a long period
both gorras, amoore, duddy, casey, krotofil, phelan

results from the weekend? where have all the posters gone?

Elwood easily passing ANAs 215, West Bentleigh took advantage of a depleted East Sandy...Sharks over Omega, Uniting finally got some points..over Centrals. Union smashed Le Page.

Re: CMCA- Ommies to remain in top grade

Fair to say Edi/Asp's request to stay in Woolnough has been justified. Scores of 95 and 59 in consecutive weeks now. Kingston Heath have set the early pace. Looking quite formidable. Union have started well in their first year up. Couple of quality innings' from the East Sandy boys on Saturday. Bluey's 128 consisted of some good clean hitting and Bails' 84 was the perfect anchor role getting them home in the 2nd last over. The pair put on a pretty much chanceless 212 for the 3rd wicket.

Ernst - what gives with the Centenary boys? Our E Grade side have some big eaters and last weekend the poor bastards weren't told they "don't get tea in the 4ths" until the actual tea break arrived. Surely they deserve some rations of some sort for chasing leather around the park all day?!

Re: CMCA- Ommies to remain in top grade

I can't answer for them, i was unaware afternoon tea was provided by the home team in the 4ths.
And if these boys are as big as you say they are well like myself we can surrvive by missing a meal.
When i played 3rds n 4ths when i was 15 we never had afternoon tea we always had to go to the shop for a 4 n 20.
Kingston Heath do look like a good out fit we played them in our 2nd practice match this year and they were full strength

Re: CMCA- Ommies to remain in top grade

how is this for some stats IN C GRADE

Peter Manakis batting averages 145 bowling averages 4.6
Nathan Heany batting Averages 49 bowling averages 8.0

both must be close to a promotion:cool:

And well done to CHUBBA on the weekend he is still going strong in his mid 30s with another bag of 6 against maysies men very good bowler

Re: CMCA- Ommies to remain in top grade

Yeah great to see Uniting hiding in C Grade instead of having a crack at Woolnough!

Just changing subject why haven't Southside ripped up their unsafe pitch? I thought that all those dodgy rubber based pitches had been replaced?

Agree.Should be playing in Woolnough at least Cluden had the guts to take the jump and they will benefit from it down the track. If PM is making those sort of runs then he should be in the 1sts.If the older players lose form then they know they will get dropped. The kids will get their chances.

Re the pitch because it costs 5K to rip it up and replace it,and they also need the council and probably CMCA approval.Best way to do it is via a grant but they can take a bit of work.

Re: CMCA- Ommies to remain in top grade

Well they did well last year, but struggled the year before.
When they went up Woolnough a few years back they were smashed.
Consistancy should be the priority no point sending the young kids to woolnough for them to battle and not develop confidence in there own game.
I am sure the committee would have had a lengthy discussion down there about it and made there decission on the best interest of the club.
The committee down there don't get to much wrong they do a super job like most cricket com.
And as outsiders your allowed to your opinnion but less your in the inersactum of the club in question you probably don't have all the facts on the situation at hand to cast question marks on the decission made.

Well said. They were told as much. Couldn't imagine you trudging up the shop for a pie, Brett. Hard one to picture.

As for your mates close to promotion, with no one else able to get more than a start, they should be in there asap to salvage the season. 1 more loss and it's curtains for the Uniting boys.

I will support the fact Uniting were a very ordinary unit in Woolnough a few years back, but the competition is weaker by comparison these days. I suspect they'd be far more competitive this year than in years gone by.

Anyone heard from the ANA Hater?

Re: CMCA- Ommies to remain in top grade

Can't see how we're quiet. Disappointing loss but they do happen. There's never much forum action over the weekend and early in the week. Mid week's when it starts to happen.

Possibly big fish in little ponds???

Interestingly most of Unitings 1's would be happy with a batting average of 4.6 or 8 and the bowlers would be wrapped if their averages were anything around 50!

What a ridiculous statement to make. They lost a game about this time last season and won the flag quite convincingly. Your best served sitting around you own clubrooms admiring the lack of flags for a few more weeks before writing them off.
