I heard the keeper kicked the stumps after one of LD's deliveries passed harmlessly by, admitted it and was hastily told to shut up by 10 of his not so honest mates when the umpire gave the Centrals batsman out bowled.

I guess that bit of luck cost the ump a GF.

You either know the full story or are attempting to stir the pot here. Charlie is a good mate and not someone any of us would compromise friendships with over a game of cricket. Everyone involved knows the full story.

"thSerious" - You sound familiar. Have we met?

Had a little help from the tight collars the Centrals boys were wearing in the 2nd semi, but you need a bit of luck.

Nothing to thsay about the Brendan thSmith comment buddy?
Get your facts thstraight you fool.

And as for the kicking the thstumps, i hope you're just trying to thstir the pot because everyone that was there knows what happened. Going by Charlie's recent form against us we would have preferred to keep him at the crease for a while anyway..... ;)

I'd be interested to know who all these players that have come through the juniors at ES there Smash??

Marto & Barney..?? Obviously Pitty/Big have been there a while

Think the majority have all found their way to Duncan from elsewhere. LD, Dudd's, Flahive(highett west/ chelt park) Young kid/open bat (can't remember his name) Edi/Asp.?

No drama, but can't be saying there all homegrown as you did thats all..

As for Mr ANA hater, I think i might have figured out yr identity... hows yr joke of a footy team going to travel this week.. Mad Monday for your boys next week i think..

There's only 1 Buddy Franklin...

Re: CMCA- Ommies to remain in top grade

Last year's premiership side:
Pitt - need I explain...?
Phelan - again...
Gray - same again...
Dallas - juniors at ESBCC up to U/16s when they folded at his age group and he came across to HW, followed the crowd to Chelt Park, then was wooed back home.
Duddy - Hampton United junior 12s, HWCC 14s & 1 yr 16's, CP 2nd yr 16s and followed his best mate to ESBC after a year off.
Bennett - junior through senior
Martyn - ditto
Devereaux - ditto
Manders - junior from Edi/Asp.
Wilson - well travelled man that played plenty of high level cricket before moving into the area and settling at East Sandy. I think he's found his niche helping run the junior program.
Myself - you know about.

There's others that have come and gone like Corp & Pearce who are also products of the junior program. Along with Rock, Belly and possibly Wal Bennett as premiership players, that pretty much leaves the happy couple of B.Smith & Cheeks. Cheeka played at Omega, HW, Chelt Park and finally ES before having a crack at subbies. Fair to say most of the talent is homegrown.

If you read what i wrote again i thsaid that they played juniors OR have been there for a fair few years and haven't jumped on the bandwagon. Corp, Martyn, Devereaux & Bennett all played juniors there and the others (LD, Duddy, Pearce, Cheeks, Smith etc) were all there in 01/02 when the flags thstarted rolling in. None jumped on the bandwagon. Then there's thsome of the ones like Pitt, Phelan, Bell, Cos Devereaux that have also obviously been there for many years. Manders (young opening bat) came to the club last season as a 15 year old because his old man has had a keen interest in the club for many years. Hardly chasing a flag or "bandwagon jumping".
So to reiterate my original comment, all apart from Uncle Mick last year were either home grown or been at the club for many years and there hasn't been a single case of bandwagon jumping in any of the 6 flags.

Re: CMCA- Ommies to remain in top grade

how sthick was it when guy martyn caught the winning catch of the grand final?

Do you remember it thsuper thsix sthmasher?

Re: CMCA- Ommies to remain in top grade

Thanks for your help there Smash, I had forgotten about the young kid that jumped aboard with Flahive. Now lets see, Flahive (BOG - Semi Final) and Manders (BOG - GF). I think both players had solid games in the reverse finals as well meaning that the other nine did sweet **** all last March. Please allow me to change bandwagon to BANDWAGON.

Burger, I think my footy side enjoyed some mad monday yesterday. It looks like you think i barrack for Adelaide, North Melb, Sydney or Collingwood, judging by your comments.

Judging by that ridiculous picture of yours, I wouldn't be celebrating too soon as i'd rather be doing mad monday after the last week of August rather than after the last week in September, but then again your side will give Port's newly established record a shake.

PS At least you jumped on the Buddy Bandwagon, not the East one !!

Re: CMCA- Ommies to remain in top grade

Ana Hater, your going to look like a dickhead when East wins another premiership without these people who jump on the "bandwagon".

LD did nothing in the final? I wouldn't mind betting if Manders wasn't 16 then "Harry" would have been going LD's way.
And as mentioned earlier those 2 came on board when everyone thought we were going down hill. So jumping on a sinking ship is jumping on a bandwagon??? And can you please clarify for me how Brendam Smith jumped on the bandwagon in 05/06? I'm a bit puzzled with that one.

That's odd. As far as i can remember "Barney" took a caught and bowled to win the GF...... Is Guy Martyn's nickname "Barney"?

Flattered by your opinion, but LD's '7 for' would've been BOG. And Johnny Wilson's innings at the death was just as pivotal in getting the win. Have to agree with the Manders selection though. In a game the bowlers dominated the only bat to get 50+ deserved the Harry Morgan. Crazy Maysie's 7 or 8 for was stiff not to get it.

Two rules i go by

1) I dont consider Murali to be the worlds leading wicket taker because of his extremely suspect action. (No LD)

2) Medals shouldn't go to players from the losing side. (No May)

I'm also not so sure that the ES boys would have liked to have Charlie hang around as he was only one or two wallops from winning the game for Centrals.

The GM catch ended the Semi from memory and pretty much went straight down his throat, while the BB catch did as correctly pointed out end the GF. Did BB do anything else in March?

I reckon you know Charlie's recent batting record against us pretty well "ANA Hater". I thsaid that comment as i joke meaning that he was never going to score againthst us anyway.
Also, GM muthst have had nerves of thsteel to take that catch in the thsemi. It went thsoooooo high! BB's was also a thsexy one hander.
