Sitting second in BS....not to shabby?

How do you lose more that you have???

Many years ago that was a argument about Mernda but I would have thought it would be a growing area with many moving in. I know four blokes from my club that have moved in the area.

:):):D:D

Well mate if your so ****ing clever why dont you tell why that might be. You put your best team in a grade yes. well you'd like to think so, but leave two or three for the rest. well mernda dont hav that two or three spers, maybe one but no more than two

Go back and have a good look at where Mernda are struggling mate...

Sitting 2nd in BS, Sitting 2nd in E Grade and just out of the 4 in H Grade.

Looks like the only grade they struggle in is BR.

Sounds like you might have a little bit of sour grapes going on champion, are you one of the kids who couldn't handle losing?

Ive seen better cricket in the modefied mate, e grade for olddise that still want to compete and h just for fun, thats not what to call competitive, and i cant say ive lost to many games this year in all forms, juniors seniors and rep

haha good one. im suprised you didnt play last week to make a late charge for the c grade finals. so when are the dvca announcing the name of the Vaughan Shield in recognition of the bloke who has stacked up more games then any other cricketer in the whole competion of c grade cricket.

Another well compiled 26 on the weekend, and in charge of the gloves. Looks like the numbers are getting thinner and thinner at Plenty Park.

Mate, I think I can see what you're trying to say - but I'm not 100% sure because you're spelling is aboslutely deplorable!

Your argument has absolutely no merit - you're saying that because the Mernda 2nd XI (who made 400 this week) are struggling, the whole club is struggling?

They can only put teams together in the grades they're in and by the looks of it, they're doing well in all grades except BR.

On your logic, Epping would be REALLY struggling, they're sitting below Mernda in BR!! That club's really in strife!

Riverside have only won one more game than Mernda in BR this year too, they must be really struggling aswell. More strife over there!

thats not entirely true, i've played a few games in f grade this year and most bowlers i faced in that grade were better than the ones i've faced in c-grade so far.

the gap between C and F/G bowlers isn't much at all i rekon

Just the inconsistancy that comes wth young players, although they racked up 5/350 odd on the weekend. Good to see two talented kids get good scores on the weekend. Looks lke there is some good kids playing Barclay Res this season.

Hey my spelling is f**king shit house it always has been. But it think that it's fair to say riverside are struggling because no senior bats are goin on to make big scores. M.Doyle- gone missing, Lindsey hasset- keeps getting starts but it good to see he is now starting to cash in. but enough of that im dying to find out just how good you are mate, seeing as you are full of shit can you do anything or are you a speicalist shit talker

Listen fool, you came on here and said Mernda were struggling in ALL senior grades. All I did was point out that the ONLY grade they struggle in is BR.

Then you decided to change your argument around and went on to say that because they struggle in BR the whole cub is struggling, because "the lower grades aren't even as good as modified cricket".

I simply pointed out that if that was the case then Epping and Riverside must be in deep trouble as both clubs are finding wins hard to come by in BR.

You're the only bloke who's full of shit here mate.

You've obviously realised how rediculous your argument is, now you want to start taking pot shots at me.

Pull your head in and actually think before you speak - If Mernda were sitting on the bottom in BS, BR and any other grade they have a side in, you'd have a point - but they look like a good thing in A Grade this year and are more than competetive in the lower grades, therefore you don't make any sense!

Mernda has actually done quite well the last few tears, not only in A grade but throughout the club. I doubt there would be many blokes that would have backed you guys to be in such a good position a few years ago. Eppings 2's are generally rubbish although they looked ok last year, being on top most of the year but then not playing finals. Riverside have always been competitive in every grade and I see they have dropped off sharply in a few grades including the two's. Would have to be a few question marks over the siders.

I can see your logic in saying that we have dropped off a bit (sharply is a bit rich though) Apart from B grade most teams are well and truly in finals contention: C-4th, D - 3rd, F - 5th and a few with half a chance A-7th
E - 6th G - 6th. I admit that we aren't travelling as well as previous years (we've consistently had 4 or more teams in finals, which is pretty hard to keep up) but I don't think you can put too many question marks over the club as a whole.
As for our B grade we have come back to the pack a bit after a long period of success and this has to be expected. We have lost a few experienced players and have blooded some players with little experience in the grade. Although the results aren't on the board we have been competitive in most matches and have challenged most teams. I wouldn't write us off after only one bad year...we'll be stronger for it next season.
As for Mernda they have done well as a club and will continue to grow and more success throughout the grades will come. I'm sure they'd be pretty happy sitting 2nd in A and developing some young players in B in what has been a pretty even competition throughout the season.

Re: DVCA Barclay Reserve

I just wanted to make it clear that I don't think Epping and Riverside are struggling clubs.

I only used those two because they are around where Mernda are in BR to prove my point that just because a club struggles in a particular grade doesn't mean they struggle as a whole club. ;)
