For christ's sake Cow & 430. When you're posting at least get the grammar and spelling correct. Seems that you've posted after, not before training.

Be careful buddy, I got in trouble for pulling some blokes up on this a couple of months back, you're treading a very fine line! ;)

Rd 1 we lost to the reigning premiers by 20 runs, hardly smashed I would have thought...needing a run a ball with 6 overs left would be in a winning position?

Rd 2 only one bloke made over 10, and he made 100. And he was swing, swing, swinging.

Rd 3 as above.

We have been in winning positions in every game and if we get some luck to go our way, we'll go ok.

No offence Hoggy but the sporting environment at Eltham is a basket case, football club 100-136k in the red and pushing shit up hill to survive, cricket club that relies on one man for a chance to win a game and stay in Barclay. Can`t get a drink down there on a Saturday untill 3pm because no one mans the bar, food from the canteen consists of a microwaved pie on order. What the hell is going on down there? All this money pumped into the joint, you guys have it all at your disposal but keep shooting yourselves in the foot. Eltham are fast becomeing a laughing stock and no one down there seems to have brains to pull it all together.

Re: DVCA: Barclay Shield

Just for peoples info, Dinesh ( last seasons comp bowling winner ) has had his visa approved, will be playing next game.

Terry Keays
Jason NIcholas

Both members of our team of the century and absoloute superstars of our club and the comp for a long period of time - Never played juniors with us!!

Good luck to all on the weekend, some big games and as has been previously mentioned, will be one of the most even seasons in memory so wins on the board early are like gold.

One of the luxuries of having a club full of cops huh?

You blokes would get O.J. Simpson a visa if he could play cricket!

Is it worth the $$$ to get a guy for 7 games and maybe finals???

i don't wish to sound like Oprah, but for dinesh, returning to Australia is a hell of a lot more important than getting a few $$$ to play cricket.
He hopes to make his future out here, as unfortunatley, he has nothing in Sri Lanka. He was denied permanent residency last year, hence the delay in returning.
i don't expect you to understand, agree or sympathise. Just accept that this is the path we have chosen and if it backfires, you can all say i told you so!!

i agree that some guys will be chasing cash, that's why clubs that go down this path need to think pretty hard before they do. I'd love to be like Diamond Creek and have kids everywhere wanting to play, unfortunately we dropped the ball a few years ago and while we have made this a major focus recently, we've still got a way to go.

i'm not sure what position you have held in your club, but i can tell you, as anyone in the same position could, that recruiting players is hard work, real hard. We have spoken to many cricketers with "good" credentials over the last 5 years and it's either, "i've got a few other offers" or "i can get x amount elsewhere". They don't commit or they don't want to come to our club. Who knows, the best way to recruit players is to look ouside the square, or country as it may be.

As for finals, if we play them great, if not bad luck. we try to be as competitive as we can be if that means we finish 3rd, 7th or last, so be it.

if we were poor enough to be relegated, as we were a few years back & rightly so, whats the big deal. it will happen to most clubs eventually...

i've got no issues playing Money Shield, as long as i'm playing for Bundoora alongside my mates.....

That's why we all play cricket.

p.s - i just read what i wrote, it does sound like Oprah:D

nah, but they have 3,000 of them so i'm tipping they wont miss one!! Surely a bus is worth more than the pie & can of coke we can afford to pay at the minute.....

Geez, how many match payments do you give Bremner then?

If you believe the crap that you are putting up on this website then no wonder your club is batterling.

It's not like you lost a 2 day in round 1 by 20 runs it was a 1 dayer which I believe brings the better team down to the poorer teams level. Needing a run a balll for 6 overs is not a winning postion in local cricket this is not international cricket, how many wickets were in hand?

Round 2 there batsmen are always going to swing and do that every week, maybe if your team had done this you would've made more then the pultry 140. They made your total in 29 overs you must have been overused.

Did you play in round 3 or are you just retarded because from looking at the scorecard it looks as though 4/5 blokes contributed to there total of 280 and once Skips got out your team lost 9/60.

Have a realistic think about what you are saying you goose and the embarrassment you are causing yourself

What does batterling mean?

Quite obvious bear.

Vilos is already thinking about tomorrow's dinner - battered ling. Just loves fish.

Seriously though this bit of rain plus any more may make tomorrow's tosses important. In the past a bit of dampness on the all weather pitches has made batting difficult.

Re: DVCA: Barclay Shield

Just wondering, because Salpigtidis is playing at Riverside this season, are they wearing BLACK SLACKS AND SHOES to the matches?

Re: DVCA: Barclay Shield

Very interesting few days on the posting. Just to recap on some of the thoughts of others:

* Bundoora (the club) are going to be void in a few years from spending $$ on imports. (Yet Plenty spent more on players than the average person spends on a house, and are still fighting strongly)

* Hoggy dabbles in the good old weed. (While I admire your fight for Eltham you cannot use B grade examples as to why A Grade will stay up!)

* ICEMAN just simply wants to jump on every few days and start a fire and runs. Also seems to do it during training hours? Is he a player? (rumour has it, he is actually from a Money Shield club)

* COWCORNER had a bit too much to drink last week, and was molested under a tabled. (Rumour has it he enjoyed it so much, he will be attending that same table tonight)

* Vilos struggles with the basic concept of English/Spelling. (Whilst this could incriminate many people in the Diamond Valley, Burgs you can no longer hide behind this alias)

* 430king jaws off yet again during times when training is on for most clubs, yet he is on here. Very cheeky to get on the Barclay Shield thread and bag blokes when you have NEVER played a Barclay/Reserve game. Maybe get on the F grade thread?

* Premiersagain is proud to announce that he has grown his first pube. He will be celebrating by jacking off over the underwear section in the KMart catalogue with his "Under 16's team"

seriously do you want to clarify that have genuinely no idea what that would mean. did a riverside player run over your dog? you have nothing but absolute crap to talk about us and everyone else and you are not even willing to state where you're from. you are the type of person that ruins this site. do you want to harden up and tell us where you're from or are you going to keep hiding behind your keyboard?

Seems like I have hit a nerve, its not my fault you blokes are doing it tough. It was a simple question. And I don't understand a word you wrote, and nooone ran over my dog I just don't like your club never have but I wouldn't be the only one on here that would say that. But I don't just single out your club. Anyway if you think I was having a go at your club your wrong I was just curious.

Re: DVCA: Barclay Shield

As much as I don't want to get involved in this, just what were you implying with the black slacks and shoes comment?

I'm guessing it's a dig but is it directed at the club, the Salpigtidis fellow or something else?
