Seems like I have hit a nerve, its not my fault you blokes are doing it tough. It was a simple question. And I don't understand a word you wrote, and nooone ran over my dog I just don't like your club never have but I wouldn't be the only one on here that would say that. But I don't just single out your club. Anyway if you think I was having a go at your club your wrong I was just curious.

well just looking back at a lot of the things you write, you don't mind having a crack at our boys especially pig and before that dalton. I don't care if you slag off the club on this site and i know we are far from popular... thanks for stating the bleeding obvious. i just think it is pretty spineless singling out individuals and having a crack at them behind your keyboard when they don't really have a right of reply. And even worse you are not even willing to state where you're from despite countless opportunities to do so. don't try tell me that was a genuine question...you were stirring the pot and you probably got the reaction you wanted but i'll make it clear i think you are a tool and i wouldn't be the only one on here to say that.

Re: DVCA: Barclay Shield

He is referring to the fact that Salpig made Lower Eltham's 1st XI attend games in slacks and black leather shoes.

Few interesting scores this weekend, should be some entertaining chases.

No as much as it seemed like those players were players that were getting paid they actually weren't. I'm sure most of these blokes could have gone elsewhere and got paid, but they knew that what they had was good, and at the end of the day these blokes did get paid in flag 4 of them. Thats what most blokes play cricket for and if their in it for just the cash then they prob arn't the sort of blokes you want at your club. Your a team in cricket and they kept their team together for the ultimate reward, its not all about the cash.

And Chug, no I don't mind having a crack at blokes that get under my skin. I not hiding behind my keyboard if I have a problem I will and have had a crack at them. I'm not the most popular bloke in the valley because of this but at the end of the day I don't really care.

You have smashed the nail on the head Iceman.

Re: DVCA: Barclay Shield

You are in a fantasy land if you are trying state that Planty did not pay players. Really guys thats just plain funny.

Yes reply that I am wrong and how would I know. But I do know, and players at Plenty did get paid and paid well.

But there is nothing wrong with that, peoples time now days is precious and getting an earn to pay the bills because you are talented at sport is fine. Being in it just for cash may be wrong but paying the mortgage and the like when there is money out there is just plain smart.

PA and Icey, your opinions are your opinions just as these are mine, but to state that no one gets paid at Plenty is just plain wrong.

Honestly I have absolutly nothing to do with Plenty, but I do know that those boys never got paid apart from the coach. As I said they had a great side and got their payment at the end of the season, in a premiership and that is something no amount of money that could keep them away from. You work so hard during the season to get that result and if you knew you could achieve that, would you go and play somewhere else for cash? They will go down as one of the best sides ever in the valley and who wouldn't want to be apart of that!

I agree they will go down as a great team and they did work hard and train hard and showed the competition how it needs to be done to be succesful.

We must know different people though as I know a few that got paid and paid well, and that was regardless of if they won the premiership, they probably got a bonus for winning (and deservadly so) I also know players that have been offered some serious money to go to Plenty and at no stage was a caveat put in place that they would only get paid if they won the GF.

Re: DVCA: Barclay Shield

Eltham v Lower Eltham 250 (Poyser 77) - Eltham (ie Skips) won't get that many... Lower.

Research 8-388 (Soysa 131, Turner 93no) v Macleod - Huge score on a tiny ground. Interesting challenge for the new boys. I'm going with Research to win, but Macleod to still get close-ish

Lower Plenty 264 (J Crook 63) v Lalor Stars 2-8 - The cheese fails again... Lalor in early trouble, can't see them chasing them down. Lower for mine.

Plenty v Riverside 250 (Smale 67) - Riverside find a little form, this game is pretty close. Will back the class in plenty's lineup

Diamond Creek 0-0 v Epping 191 - Epping seems to have batted very slow, to bat the overs on a relatively small (i think?) ground and not get to 200 is interesting. This game is 50-50, I'll back Epping's bowlers.

Bundoora 0-7 v Mernda 202 (Steele 59,Ravindra 5-48). Can the bunnies keep their form from last week? Ravindra over his jetlag by the looks of things. Will back Bundy

The thing I love about your post Icey is that you sound like you actually believe what you are saying.

It is pretty well known that a middle order bat who has recently headed to the HDCA, who has had his hand out wherever he has been, left this season after the money was withdrawn last year. Some blokes are in it for the money.

Also Iceman, its about time you delared your club, it appears that you are from Plenty. Its not hard, just come clean.

Maybe you're not part of the decision making group at Plenty and are just unaware of what is going on?

seriously do you want to clarify that have genuinely no idea what that would mean. did a riverside player run over your dog? you have nothing but absolute crap to talk about us and everyone else and you are not even willing to state where you're from. you are the type of person that ruins this site. do you want to harden up and tell us where you're from or are you going to keep hiding behind your keyboard?

Can't say that I've ever had a kind word to say about the Clappers between 1pm and 6pm on a Saturday when I've been out there against them, but you have to say that they are probably the strongest club in the comp. Picking up the Pig is probably a testament to this.

It's pretty weak to not name your club Icey.

Re: DVCA: Barclay Shield

I would just like to know how picking up the Pig is a testament to anything. They have aquired a player that hasn't done anything for 2 years. What is so big about that hardly a gun and nowhere near one of the best pick ups by clubs this year. And if you think you know that I am from Plenty why do I need to say where im from?

Well from Eppings experience last year its not hard to sign him, but to get him to actually change clubs seemed to be the challenge.

As I said in my post "it appears you are from Plenty", unlike some people I like to know for sure before I say to much. Could you please confirm your DVCA affliation?

In regards to the Pig, he may of had a lean season or two, and some of that was most likley club politics, but the guy has ability and he will bounce back. My point was that the Pig was looking for a new home and of all the clubs he could have chosen he picked the Clappers. I'm not going to continue at the risk of sounding like a Riverside sympathiser and being de-registered by the Bulls.

No jetlag, we chartered a private plane to fly at low altitude from Sri Lanka with a massage therapist on board to make sure he arrived in good shape. No point spending a truck load then scrimping on the little things. LOL:D

Re: DVCA: Barclay Shield

I know I am going to be the only bloke on here that will put my balls on the line, but I am tipping Eltham this week in an upset. Eltham generally go alright against Lower, Not a massive target on a ground where you get value for shots. Skips in form (really, when is he not??) with someone else to fire!

And before I get drilled about me being from Eltham etc. If you look back through previous posts, I have tipped against Eltham on more than one occasion!

Dunno if you will be on your own there Tongs, Eltham are thin with batters but if Skip makes his ton (and who would bet against him) and has a couple of people back him up, 250 is very getable.
