DVCA - C grade and below

You only have 5 teams, meaning the entire 16's team has 44 chances out of 55 to get a game in D-grade or higher.

Shows the depth of the club beyond the 2's if Cotter is running around in the 3's. Not Smith though, he's rightfully deserved his spot.

Cotter is a good cricketer mate, bowls some handy leg spinners and can hold a bat. A player to watch out for is S Crump in D grade this week, bowls heat and took 4/11 the last time he played.

Re: DVCA - C grade and below

Leg Before, I am then interested in hearing why Plenty's G Grade team is bottom of the table.

Not a sneering attack, just looking towards playing against you guys for the first time since 16's.

Bundooras F Grade team of last year was easily the best team and would be hard to beat if the same team played this year. This team was filled with young guns with the likes of Simon Baring, Darcy Campbell, Brodie Odermatt, Matthew Dunkerton and Riley Dyson. These young guns were backed up by very experienced players with the like of the skipper Mike 'Chopper' Sheahan, Peter James, Les Dyson, Gavin Baring, Terry Campbell and Gary Murphy.
These blokes had a superb season with both the bat and ball and i would just like to refresh some of your minds with some individual highlights this team had produced.
Riley Dyson: In the last round he pulled off a stunning performance making his first 100. Only at the ripe age of 15, this kid could really turn into a big superstar in the future.
Matthew Dunkerton: Very handy off spinner who slowed down the pace of the oppositions run rate. A very smart cricket player with both bat and ball.
Brodie Odermatt: He is a smart opeining bowler who took many wickets. In the last round took a double hat-trick to roll the team out for a dismal 42. Can hold his own bat as seen in the grand final when he made 50 not out coming in at number 9.
Darcy Campbell: A scary opening bowler with extreme pace. Also a very handy middle order batsman as seen in the grand final when he made his 50. Took the final wicket to secure Bundooras Flag.
Simon Baring: Very good opening batsman who takes his time to get underway. Once he gets his eye in its very hard to get him out. Made a couple of impressive scores in the 60s and 80s.
These young guns are the future of cricket.
It would be very hard to disagree !
Spot on there, were you one of these cricketers and riley was only 14 when he made his 129

Ash Crawford. The best H grade captain going around

Ther are only six teams but that is still a big call to make. Aaron Walton is doing superb job in his first season of capaining, and has a 100% record.

He uses damn near every player in a meaningful position... except his president... and fair enough. He captains a team that is strong but has found the best in several players who have never played so well.

Here's looking forward to coninuing good luck and form.

By the way, dropping a player from the ones to E grade may not be against the rules... but it is poor form. No matter, smoke is one thing but watch out for the smartest bowler the low grades have seen since Ted Mynott.

I have seen high graders dropped to lower grades before and it does not always work. Tend to bowl outside the stumps and prone to many many edges that fly to the boundry and also to quick to catch by lower grade players standards.

Do tell who is this smart bowler?

Thumbs Down mate, lol.
I think you're a little oblivious to the fact that he could only play one week of a game last week. Which therefore meant he couldnt play 1's, 2's or C grade because they were all two-dayers.

Fair call

It is always good to really get tested by high quality opposition, which from the looks of things you guys are this season, either with or without this high grade player. Damn shame we couldn't get a game.

Re: DVCA - C grade and below

In my first ever game above F-grade!, my fellow Wanderers travelled to Lalor and absolutely turned it on.
Team made around 250 off the whole 40 overs
(Bastin 54, Natsis 40 and P.McLaughlin 30*) everyone did their bit for the innings.
Had a few nippy bowlers but they were overshadowed with the poor fielding efforts from their team.

Bowlers bowled really tight and Lalor were very lucky to be bowled out for 147, should have been under 100 easily.
braidon horkings (under 14s!) opened the bowling and took 2fa, while ben mentha and james corbin chipped in with 3 each.

things look good for NEW heading into the mid-season break.

lol just thought i'd give you all a wrap up

Re: DVCA - C grade and below

Riverside v Macleod. Riverside looked to hav been in al sorts but destroide thm in two innings, aparantly two of their players didn't brin whites or SHOES, why even bother showing up. not the kind of standerd you like in C grade

Darcy Campbell: A scary opening bowler with extreme pace

He his a good bowler and bowled ok yesterday. He has good movement and can movi it both ways. But extreme pass is something i would not say. He his not quick at all but he is a good bowler

Re: DVCA - C grade and below

The Mill Park G and F Grader's continue to dominate with the captain in G Grade making back to back ton's and F Grade with what could be the best bowling attack in their division.

Relentless is the word.

Funniest two things I have seen for many years last season, playing Macleod C grade at Windsor Park.

1. They had a non playing captain, didn't bat or bowl!
2. The drinks break (not tea) was taken in the kitchen of the clubrooms!

Going well boys!

Only watching this year not playing, but 'C' grade looks pretty ordinary this season from what I hear and read, pity as it use to be a great mix of fun and good cricket.
