I've scored a duck in round 1 every year for the past 4 seasons. I think I'll make myself unavailable this year

Re: Geelong Cricket '08/'09(gca/bpca)

who are the best cricketers in geelong?

best bat in div 1? from an outsiders view, haunstien?
best bowler in div 1? again, from an outsiders view, danny hughes?

best bat in div 2? last year justin larkins from guild
best bowler in div 2? last year probably cox from at

hard to judge div 3 yet, but best bat would have to be andy ferguson?
and best bowler will just have to prove himself. going on last year wayne kelly and dave middleton had awesome years. kel notching up 50 wickets in the grand final, and middo took 43 or something too

I went to St Albans 4 or 5 years ago and was pretty confident I'd be able to handle the BPCA:cool: it became alot tougher than i expected, my first three hits for them where ducks:rolleyes:

Got 4 ducks last year 2, and was lucky enough to pick up the duck award, taking it from Johnny Irvine Jnr the year before:D

At least you aren't bias though.

why bother putting up stuff for discussion if your going to just rap up yourself??

Middleton and Kelly are two of the biggest pie chuckers to play the game

who was a better bat than larkins then? the guy made 650 runs at an average of 40
and playing div 3 agianst teams who aren't used to turf, middleton and kelly will run through teams. they might not be quick, but against inexperience all you need is a good seam bowler, and they are two of the best in the comp

Larkins isnt the best bat .. a good bat wont try to hit sixes in the first over, as for kelly u cant rate him a good seam bowler< brad haunstien is what u call a good seam bowler> and an average of 40 is nothing to brag about in second div2 ,larkins makes alot of runs .. and yes i would have him in my team ..Ricky otoole is a better bat for sure ,ASK HARPS he will remember ricky smashing him everywhere at grovedale one day.

Middleton's an angry young man who should just chill out. Takes his own magic carpet ride to games.

I seen tonight that the T20 comp for the Grand Finalist from last years GCA Div1 BPCA SLCA & Colac comp is going ahead again, Its knock out with the final on the MCG later next year.
I'm pretty sure-

South Barwon will play Barwon Heads @ barwon heads on hard wicket
Grovedale will play St Albans @ Grovedale on turf.

Not sure how it will work with the SLCA being no longer it's own comp.

The draw is worked with GCA1 premier v BPCA runner up and GCA runner up v BPCA Premier, with the premiers to host the game.

The 1st Rd is mid-dec

It'd be good to see a Geelong team make it all the way.

Didn't Newcomb Bulls almost beat East Belmont last year?
And Teesdale almost knocked off North Geelong or East Belmont also?

You'd expect South Barwon and Grovedale will advance to the play off of the Geelong teams to see who advances to the next stage, might get the GF rematch earlier, I'm sure this would be worth watching;)
