well i played for stmarys when i left grovey when i was 16 they are a good club i have played most places in aus. good bunch of lads thats why i keep coming back i even fly interstate for a few games for them. but i would nt for any other club out there i loved it play half game get 7-6 of 4 overs thanks north shore i miss playing you guys. but i do think if it was run better over the years we would be like this we do need jnrs and i didnt think guilders rep was this bad haha but i guess thats something that needs improving but there is alot of talent and passion at that club

Leesy said:
haha im not that bad... i have been away for a while so whats wrong with guilders.... hey im agreeing with badge there is no future for a club if there is no jnrs or respect and i want to see that for guild saints.

Hmmm obviously not enough talent/passion to keep him there?

Leesy, could you give us your motivation for leaving Guild St Mary's to playing with Grovedale; was it because you want to play Division 1, monetary or a falling out at Guild St Marys, or another reason? Just seems a little strange that after round 4, you've swapped clubs.

i would like to know were you got that info from, because you haven't sign any clearances considering they are done over the internet now.

Re: Geelong Cricket Chat

I got told yesterday that Guild/St Marys have changed there name to Guild Saints? Why have they dropped the St Marys from the name does anyone know?

something about when the two clubs merged, the gca didn't put in the affiliation properly so technically we've never been guild st. mary's. just guild. which is a shame that we've lost st mary's all together. i'd rather be the st mary's lions :D

Is that the end of this season or the end of 2008?

sorry.. end of the season 08/09.
the rumours can stop. as club secretary.. and one of leesy's best mate's.. i can tell you now, he wants to go to grovedale, not because of a "falling out" with st mary's, but to better his career and to play division one. he started his career with grovedale in the junior's, now wants to play top flight with them. is there really anything wrong with someone wanting to play to the best of their ability?

No there isn't, i was under the impression that he had already gone there to Grovedale. Can't blame him for wanting to play at the best standard in the region. Good on him.

But why was he training at Grovey if he wasn't going to play there until 09/10? And also what happens if Guild get promoted to Division Two, will he still leave? Wouldn't mind hearing this from Leesy himself.

he trained with grovedale once because tsitas invited him to train with them, and i guess he went to show his interest. i'm sure he'll train with them again during the year to show them he's still interested.
people migrate between clubs all the time, whether it's for money, friend's, or in this case to better their career. why so much talk about this one particular transfer?

Fair enough. Just thought as a club you'd be trying to keep your best players to try and get back into Division 2 where you probably deserve to be. A bit strange he has already commited to play elsewhere and we're only a 3rd of the way through this regulation season, especially when he was telling everyone how much he loved the club (ie: would fly back interstate to play for them).

I'll tell you now if you think it's normal for blokes to go train with other clubs during the year, your struggling big time.
To me it sounds like this bloke Leesy likes blowing his own trumpet and getting his ego stroked.

perhaps he does. and we tried to talk him into staying, but if you got offered a spot playing division 1 firsts, would you stay playing division 3? he's young, and wants to be at the top.
i love st mary's, played my first game for them in the under 12's when i was 6. but if i got offered a spot playing 1's in one of the best clubs in the region, i'd be taking it. and so would every other ********* on this forum.
