perhaps he does. and we tried to talk him into staying, but if you got offered a spot playing division 1 firsts, would you stay playing division 3? he's young, and wants to be at the top.
i love st mary's, played my first game for them in the under 12's when i was 6. but if i got offered a spot playing 1's in one of the best clubs in the region, i'd be taking it. and so would every other ******** on this forum.

And what happens when he realizes he may not be up to div1 and he ain't as good as he thought, and he ends up playing 2's? how quick would he rush back to div3?
And if you love the club your at why leave regardless of standard? We never saw the Hornet up and leave south to play div1 when they were playing div2 did we.
Badger you were the one on here saying he was as quick as anyone in Geelong, after seeing him yesterday all I can say is you need to get out more and see some other cricket because he was Medium at best.

Do you not think that the way it's been done is not in the right spirit of things?

From an outsider looking in it seems this deal could've been done at season's end, i mean what's the big rush to start training there if your not going to play for another season.

Don't get me wrong i commend him on having a crack at Division One but if i was a Guild player i wouldn't be to happy slugging it out a practice knowing my teammate is training with another club and won't be around next year.

after bowling 28 overs straight the day before.. and (and i don't condone this) being grossly hung over, how quick would you be?

leesy knows my stance on him leaving. personally, i'm pissed off he's going. he's a big loss to the club, on and off the field. and i already told him i wish he'd waited til the end of the year, but this is the way he's done it, and we're dealing with it.
all of guild/st. mary's will wish him well at grovedale, and we'd welcome him back anytime he wanted. i personally will not hold it against any person wanting to leave to play division 1, no matter who it is.

Well big Ando would have drank 5 times whatever leesy drank Saturday night and got 5 wkts sat off I dunno how many overs and still bowled twice as quick as him. At least Leesy fielded alright though;):D

I thought that. Spose what's done is done and there isn't much you can do about it as a club but move on.

That can't be me, thats why I'm asking questions knackers just seems extremely odd to me that a bloke would be looking at next year after rd 4 this season when the team he's playing in will win the flag by a country mile this season.

Re: Geelong Cricket Chat

Yeah we assumed he was hungover in a big way turning up in his jeans and dance floor shoes. Anyway he showed he had some raw potential as a bowler. I believe he is the nephew of the Grovedale FC president so kinda has a connection there, even though other than the regular old guys that drink at the cricket and footy there is not much between the two clubs. he was mentioning playing all this hard wicket cricket was not good for his two bolts in his shin he has also. He lives between Brisbane and Geelong so he is not always going to be available in Geelong for cricket. As far as going to Grovedale goes he would always be a chance to go elsewhere if he thought opportunities existed in Div 1, after all he just works across the road from Reynolds Reserve :)

Re: Geelong Cricket Chat

how was st albans v ocean grove drawn coz of rain? i played at shell rd jud down the street n we stopped 4 bout 5 mins

Re: Geelong Cricket Chat

if leesy wants to go and play better cricket, we cant blame him for that. but when ya come on here earlier talking about passion and blah blah blah he is gonna have to cop, and rightfully so, some questions and criticism from others. Guild should let him go and hope he comes back if he doesnt like or cut it at grovey. now why would grovey want a part time resident...hmmmmm!

Maybe RAM's knees are worse than we thought??

Surely he can't be going there to play with cats arse (Tsitas). But, judging by some of the posts he has put on here, he may fit right in.

no offence bourney.. was a bit fumed up at work for some reason. over it now.
i know and understand exactley where you lads are coming from. i guess he just isn't happy playing the standard of cricket he's playing and wants out, i dunno i'm not in his head.
as for winning the flag by a country mile, i wish people would stop saying that. it's round 4, a lot can happen. i reckon we need to lose 1 or 2 games just to knock a few blokes off their high horse. we havn't played modda, and they're gonna be a good team. and from what i've seen/heard, teesedale are gonna be a very decent team, with some really good young bowlers.
anyone at the game on sunday saw how we handled it when a good team put it up to us. what's gonna happen when teesey or modda put it up to us?
