yeah might go down - i believe the sides batting is stronger than last year however the bowling has probably gone alittle downhill

I know st marys fell 1 wicket short of an outright against Barkly St, and Merlo beat St Andrews easily. Also Pacco beat Haig.

With the ladder so tight, some big games this weekend.

My Tips:

St Marys v St Francis (St Marys too hard to judge at the moment)
West Coburg v Glenroy (Game of the Round)
Sunshine Hts v East Coburg (East Coburg's batting too hit and miss)
Socials v Haig Amateurs (Too strong)
Merlynston Hadfield v Barkly St (Confidence is up)
Pascoe Vale v St Andrews (St Andrews too bounce back although batting is fragile) G.Tapner - doubtful, N.Taylor - Supposedly Not Back till after Xmas, Harvey - Clearance ???

By the way, apparently Mick Harvey played in St.Andrews' 3rds on the weekend, so they clearance must've gone through.

Great effort by Merlo and particularly Punky Gleisner with his ton and a few wickets to go with it. Just shows if you post a decent score against St.Andrews they are as suspect as anyone and can tend to get ahead of themselves. Very close comp at the moment and lets remember St.Francis haven't played a decent team yet and lost to Socials so it's up for grabs.

My tips for this week.

St Francis to win easy over St Marys
West Cob to bounce back to save their season and over run Glenroy
Sunshine Heights too strong at home
Socials to win out right over Haig
Merlo to continue on winning way over Barkly st.
St Andrews too strong for Pacco's batting

Early tip after round 6 for the flag is Socials!

yeah i agree totally. surely they couldnt reverse the points. My sources say Harvey didnt have a clearence, so it should be clear cut!!

I think west cob one is even simpler

this is the most ridiculous call i have heard on this thread to date - i have seen them play and i seriously can't believe they have won a game let alone be noted as the best team in the comp - they are a rabble! erractic captaincy, short sht bowling and probably the worst most impatient batting lineup in this competition

their number 3 plays a shot at every ball and comes off sometimes but will give you atleast four chances if he is going to have a big innings - take your catches against them and outright is a on the radar

Dont kid yourself pal, all their batsmen come out swinging, got away with it in the first three games because they were one day games. I take it your new to the comp as their are lot more talented and experienced batsmen then anything Sunshine has. eg Gleisner, Eilers, Jolley and I'm only just starting.

My tip is that Sunshine Heights will not be playing finals.

I take it you weren't down at St Andrews last weekend watching there bowling attack against Merlo. They have two decent bowlers in Tapner and Wernham. Please tell me you dont rate Nugent(Crash), their only spinner. Got smacked last week and then cracked the sads and wouldnt bowl again.

They will be up there as a contender but please go and watch them play first and tell me who the red head is, so I can look out for him next time we play them.
