Re: NMCA(formerly Jika) '08/'09

Just looked at NU youth program and it's receipe...it begins as follows:

Find 3 imports.....actually 4, one good enough for 2s cricket only.....that won't hang around unless money is on offer....so keep them happy.

Add 3 veterans.....ensure they are 46 yo keeper, 45 yo bowler....both who's sons play in the same team...sprinkle with one 40 yo fields at 1st slip & bats 10...as he has a limited technique, and struggles to move around the outfield.

Add 4 or 5 kids....who play good cricket and a have a lot to learn.....but be careful not to over inflate their egos...as it will mean pain....when they suffer the wrath of men in other teams.

Mix together on a day...with the top team team having "a bad day" and voila...your youth policy is working.

Get them on the home page of an association website......and watch them carefully.

Let them settle for a week or 2.....play another game......and pop it all goes up in smoke.....

For next week's instalment...they come up against a seasoned team...licking it's lips...wonder what the receipe will bring together!!!

Re: NMCA(formerly Jika) '08/'09

anyone know why the camrea v baseballer result is in dispute?

check this out from the camrea website....i quote

"1st XI: After the wicket was unplayable last week this round became a 'one dayer' - Winning the toss Camrea Taipans batted and Baseballers had CT in trouble early at 3/22 - AJ and Stefin put the innings on track befoere AJ was out for 43. Danny added a quick 13 with all others only minor participatants with the willow. After tea Jason was on the attack and took the first wicket with a catch that would make even Gavin Ponting sit up and look - Caught and bowled> Tony also took an early one but by drinks PB were looking the goods at 3/77. Jason finished with 3/31 and the points to high Street."

Who is Gavin Ponting??? who plays on High Street???
maybe they need to stop the milo kids writing their match reports

Re: NMCA(formerly Jika) '08/'09

Having A chat with a Northcote united player during the week and they believe they are a real chance at winning the title..
they beat rosebank who obviously had a shocker against them but i cant see them getting anywhere close to knocking them and camrea off even keon park come later on in the season..

Heard a rumour also perera from baseballers wanting out?? any truth behind that??

One of those kids is a 'very confident' young man getting in the faces of grown men. If he gets a clip I won't be surprised.

Re: NMCA(formerly Jika) '08/'09

Northcote United brought back down to earthby the Druids!!! Too many big heads. i have noticed all season the druids have also adopted the youth policy including guys Dan Reed 16
Ricky Halabi 15
Brad Wilson 17
Christian Papadopolous 18
Tyler Andrews 18
A good mix of young old and a few middle age.
Matt Perry 28
Trent Brownjohn 29
Daniel Ramadan 24
Peter Siassios 28
Keith Gallagher 28
And 3 old blokes
Montgomery Mcfredries and Zacharopoulos (who has not made a run all year)

Re: NMCA(formerly Jika) '08/'09

I hear the Northcote united boys are still hard celebrating the win against Rosebank. Perhaps it was the hangover factor that caused them to lose to the Druids
Word from the Northcote united camp it that beating Rosebank is better then having sex.

Beating anyone, for n.united would be better than sex. They were nearly relegated last year weren't they. But if you ask marcon they just want to "develop the kids". They are a club of full of contradictions. "Do we pay" , " dont we pay" and then slag off any other team that pays any player some kanga. I hear they are currently paying $15,000 for there imports. What a joke.!!:confused:

So you have been waiting for Norhtcote United to lose before your post on here. Move on.

You wrote a little while back that Camrea was protecting Berak. That comment makes you look like a bit of a meat head.

Re: NMCA(formerly Jika) '08/'09

well hopefully baseballers beating camrea on the weekend will give other teams hope of knocking them off. dont wanna see them and rosebank run off and make it a 2 horse race.

in quick, we might aswell give it to lalor. who will stop them??

Ben Mcniece (northcote)
Nicholas christie (lalor)
Matt perri (rivergum)

come the business end of the year these players i feel will be the keys to there side

they were meant to dominate last year aswell, is going to be a very very close end to the year in quick, top 3 would just about be settled, with either the cobras or ycw to finish 4th. anyone can win on their day.
