I think this site is a place for retarded kids who grew up on farms to get together and enjoy each others absolute and utter stupidity.
You are all a pack of whingeing idiots!

Re: NMCA(formerly Jika) '08/'09

Camrea V Ballers was washed out today. Abit of a joke if you ask me. Where were the big knobs pushing to get on today. Oh let me see, it didnt suit Camrea to play did it. This comp has no credibility. Socials get crucified and players are suspended yet today was okay to call it off. GIVE ME A SPELL.
You watch the Ballers cause an upset next week in a massive upset.:D:D
Some unhappy players at Main st. There seems to be too many chiefs on matchday. Even the young gun recruit has been told to pull his head in or move on.

NORTH METRO CRICKET ROUND 8 – DAY ONE

Day one of North Metro Cricket's round eight fixtures was played on Saturday with a full days play occurring in three of the four Jika Shield clashes. The Camrea Taipans-Preston Baseballers fixture was washed out and will now be played as a one day match this Saturday at Main Street Reserve, Thomastown.

At Preston's Sullivan Reserve the Northern Socials met Holy Trinity in what loomed as an opportunity to open their account for season 2008/09. Holy Trinity opened proceedings with the bat and Knights skipper Matt O'Brien was removed early with his team deep in trouble at 5/52 before Nick Wignall joined Julian Turner at the crease to put on a seventh wicket stand of 90. Turner blasted eight fours in a fine knock of 75 while Wignall tallied 83. Wignall and Rocky Sharma combined for a 96 run partnership; Sharma went on to record 69 runs in an innings that included nine boundaries and two sixes.

President Mick O'Neill was the last man out in the 75th over as Holy Trinity made a brilliant recovery to clock up a total of 326. The embattled Socials, after making early in-roads, put down several catches in the field. They will resume day two on 1/11.

Recovery, too, was the order of the day at Robinson Reserve as Northcote United slumped early to go from 3/50 to 6/56 in their encounter with the Preston Druids. Young Adam Marcon joined captain Saman Kandage for the seventh wicket partnership of 116. Kandage fell just short of a century, given out leg before on 98 while Marcon was dismissed on 49 as United went on to put a total of 234 on the board. Useful contributions with the bat also came from Brian White, who made 30 and Dennis McNeice, 25 not out. The Druids were required to face six overs to complete day one at 1/19.

Defending title holders Keon Park welcomed Rosebank-North Brunswick, coming off a surprise last round defeat, to Reservoirs Donath Reserve. The home sides skipper Florian Tobain won the toss and elected to bat. Very early Keon Park was on the ropes, finding no answers to the visiting attack, struggling at 5/16. Tobain, Ryan Docherty and Mark Howard were the only three batsmen to reach double figures, with Docherty top scoring with 33.

In front of their large group of supporters Keon Park were back in the pavilion, all out for just 82 runs in the 47th over. Glen Larsen led the way with the ball, recording the figures of 4/21 from 15.5 overs whilst Damien Sampimon completed an accurate nine overs, taking 3/7.

In reply Rosebank-North Brunswick are set to resume day two at 3/42. Tony Tenuta's miserable season continued as he was sent packing for just three, with David Plumpton back in the rooms shortly after without troubling the scorers with Nirmal Wickramarathna cleaned his stumps up.

QUICK SHIELD

The in-form Rivergum Cricket Club continued on its way, declaring having amassed 335 runs for the loss of seven wickets at Moore Park South against the Cameron Cannons.

Rivergum's Matt Perri blasted and exceptional 123 runs. Perri's knock included 16 boundaries and three sixes. Terry Bayly once more made a fine contribution in making 80 as he and Perri combined for a century stand. Other batsmen to offer useful knocks came from Jesse Hristovski (31), Daniel Bramich (31*), Paul Unkles (25) and Scott Morley (21).

Jeff Harrison returned 3/60 from 20 overs while Matt DeFelice claimed 2/66 for the Cannons.

Needing to face sixteen overs to see out the day the Cannons completed the day at 3/40 with Rivergum having made early progress.

KELLY SHIELD

Fiji Victorian made the trek down Plenty Road to take on the Bundoora Park Thunderbolts and spent the entire day in the field with the Thunderbolts compiling 8/306 in the allocated 80 overs with Andrew Salmon jnr. bringing up his maiden century, scoring 103. Salmon was given solid support with the willow by Shaun Salmon with an unbeaten 41 and Vicky Kumar (40) and Jaspreet Singh (42). Salmon jnr. and Daniel Snyder added 92 for the second wicket.

At Preston's Blake Park a spectacular second wicket partnership of 275 between Warwick Veale and Danny Conti saw the Preston Footballers recover from reeling at 4/32 to post an impressive 9/334 against the West Preston Sharks.

Veale went on to score 157, the associations highest individual score for the day, including 22 fours and one six with Conti out on 108. Interestingly Karl Kaiser was the only other bat to manage double figures, scoring 18.

The wickets were shared between opening bowlers Richard Jones (4/65) and Mathew Giles (5/88).

DUMPED PAIR SHOW WORTH

Dropped to the Reserve Grade by their respective clubs, Holy Trinity's Joel Beech and the Cobras Matt Mickelson answered their critics by performing the the bat and ball respectively.

After struggling for form, Beech compiled 111 runs against his old club, the Northern Socials, in the Jika Reserve competition with the 'Trinners' smashing 5/354 in what was the highest team score throughout North Metro for the days play. In the Quick Reserve division Mickelson claimed 7/23 in the clash with Preston YCW District.

In other news Keon Parks Peter Filis returned the best figures of the day around the NMCA, weighing in with 9/77 in their Jika Reserve grade fixture against Rosebank-North Brunswick.

socials would be cursing about camrea not getting a start this week. i couldnt imagine the ground being anyworse than what it was last week?

i feel that keon park are still a chance againt rosebank even if is a slim one. the wick could be the key

northcote WILL beat druids.

cobras and ycw in the balance. michael flinn parksy and morris are the BIGGG keys if they are to win

rivergum should win outright or will go close. perri ANOTHER 100...

lalor will also push for outright to keep top spot safe. christie dominating again aswell

I think they might have the right to feel a tad hard done by, the only game of competition not to play?? Having said that, we can all slip over when required, get out there bat on ball fall just to show it's unsafe.

it doesnt take a genius to work out that they only play cricket and dont write the report.... seems like there pretty good at winning though, whats that now..6 in a row?? with a flag somewhere around there i thought

Re: NMCA(formerly Jika) '08/'09

21's keep winning but they do not want to get too complacent. Bring on the DVCA, at Harry Trott(or Trot) this Sunday, 11.45am start.

Get the double, DVCA and HDCA and who knows, maybe a slab could come!!!!!
