I think Lee's problem is the he's just lost his form and he needs just a few good spells to bring it back and boost his confidence.

Personally I think hayden should be taken from the team DEFINEATELY if he doesnt peform well this game.I reckon hes's lucky Jaques is injured.

Siddle I reckon should be taken from the team and replace with Bollinger or the other guy whose name I can't remember like Ponting said in that interview.Kreja should be given another chance.

That may be true, but the biggest concern is his lack of pace, that was his biggest weapon, and right now its MIA, and unless it comes back Lee is in trouble.

Probably. Bolllinger is pretty good, but I'd rather see Hilfenhaus out there.
Your wish has been granted.......

The Australian selectors have made two changes for the Boxing Day Test with NSW spinner Nathan Hauritz recalled to the squad alongside Tasmanian swing bowler, Ben Hilfenhaus.

Hauritz replaced Jason Krejza, who returned match figures of 1-204 in the six-wicket defeat to the Proteas in the first Test in Perth.

"The national selection panel consider that Jason is a potentially fine spin bowler for Australia, but our view is that in Perth we were unable to maintain pressure and to successfully use our fast bowlers we needed to maintain that pressure at the spinner's end,'' Hilditch said.

"Jason has been informed of this reasoning and has been encouraged to continue to be a wicket-taking spin bowler but will return to interstate cricket to further those skills.''

Victorian paceman Peter Siddle, another who had little impact in Perth, was also retained, while the 13-man squad also included Queensland allrounder Shane Watson.

Australian team: Ricky Ponting (capt, Tas), Michael Clarke (v-capt, NSW), Matthew Hayden (QLD), Simon Katich (NSW), Michael Hussey (WA), Andrew Symonds (QLD), Shane Watson (QLD), Brad Haddin (NSW), Nathan Hauritz (NSW), Brett Lee (NSW), Mitchell Johnson (QLD), Ben Hilfenhaus (TAS), Peter Siddle (Vic).

Re: South Africa in Australia

Interesting they dropped Krezja. I know he was pretty ordinary in Perth but Hauritz is hardly an intimidating replacement. Shame the old man McGain isn't fit to show us what he can do.

Re: South Africa in Australia

Bracken conceded runs I must admit but he took wickets. At the moment we need someone other than Johnson who can take wickets, although Hilfy should get a go, Brackens record isn't so bad.

Re: South Africa in Australia

Bracken is an uselfull bowler and can swing the ball ...

Aussie selectors are making mistakes after mistakes , they have to pick Bracken and Beau Casson .....

Casson isnt in the best of form at the moment- then again no Aussie spinner is really! ;)

I'd rather they use four quicks and use Katich (who is rather handy), Clarke and Symonds as the spin options for Melbourne.

Sydney's a different kettle of fish though! ;)

Agree.

No spinner has earnt their place in the team, so I don't see why we should pick one. Guys like Symo, Clarke and Katich can fill the void and I tell you this won't be leaking runs up around the 5 an over mark like our good friend Krezja.

The guy needs to go back to domestic cricket, work on his variation and control. Get some more confidence up after the injuries and high runs hit off him and return. The guy has some supreme talent just needs to be handled the right way and not go into the history books.

Re: South Africa in Australia

Casson should have been picked before Hauritz for the squad. Neither should play, but Casson should be in the squad.

Problem with that is that Casson hasn't even been picked for his state for a while. I think that he's also out injured.

Well if he isn't mentally fit to play then why didn't he have a break?
He's constantly getting councelling from the sports psychologist who is travelling with the team...

The fact is that he has to take his son with him everywhere all because his marriage broke up.

For him to be a single dad and being away so often makes it hard for him because he is constantly worrying about his son.
