The Serious Discussion Thread.

Those Chinese spies are reprehesible. Sneaky bully hypocrits. Maybe we should ram them with an ice breaker, just like they do to Phillopino fishing ships in their own waters.

Trump wants to settle Ukraine and Gaza before he turns his cruel eyes on China.
Two powerful empires straining for supremacy would be fun to watch. Certainly we Aussies should not get involved.

Because Zelenskyy and Europe were miffed at not being invited to Peace talks Trump has lost his cool again slandering Zelenskyy with weasel words more apt in describing himself. He's like a toddler having a tantrum, even blaming Zelenskyy for starting the war with Russia. Good grief, what next?

I'm easy Craig, but I do like this Serious forum where many issues overlap. Like Palmer's new political party praising Trump's shifting ideologies. Also Global warming and Trunp's ignorance on the issue. Chinah vs Trump, ... Australia's position on the global stage, ...

Trump now nicknamed the "King of the US" just recently, called Zelenskyy a Dictator. As you said before Craig, pot calling the kettle black.
He's losing the plot already with a huge surge of meglomania.

Where's the Lone Ranger when he's needed? Superman? Batman?

What about Whyalla's steel furnace going bankrupt?
To keep that industry its nice to see bipartisan support to keep it going with Federal support. Too right, they produce 75% of Australia's domestic steel foundries. Lots of railway lines ...
$300 million today to pay out debts and ~$2.4 billion to make it viable again. A price the fraction of the cost of a nuclear sub.
Sure it was run down with a English business man at the helm, with a wonky rudder. It was a Sanjeev Gupta, the Executive Chairman of GFG Alliance, which encompasses a range of global businesses owned by his family. Born into a family of industrialists in Punjab, India, Sanjeev was educated in the UK and graduated with an MA in Economics and Management from the University of Cambridge.

Thirty five years ago I took my kids on a tour of the Whyalla Steel works. It was awe inspiring. My girls, me and my wife all had to wear hats and goggles to watch the pouring of the liquid iron. It was like a scene from Dantes Inferno.

We can't go backwards with our downstream manufacturing.
In fact, we need to increase the sector if annything. We can't rely on Chinah in these geo political stormy times, nor the US it may seem...

TRUMP IS CLUELESS. How the hell did he become leader of the planets strongest free nation.

Trump has laid allegations that Zelenskyy's role as president is illegitimate and that he is " a dictator and a fake leader", due to no elections in Ukraine, which was scheduled to be held in March/April 2024, concluding Zelenskyy's first five-year term. The vote was postponed as the country's constitution does not permit elections under martial law, which was declared on 24 February 2022, the day when Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Putin made the same allegation.

I liked that Zelenskyy said something like 'that Trump was in a Russian Disinformation bubble', which I concur with. Big bromance there. That caused Trump to have a tantrum, he was very upset, where he talked rubbish trying to slag off Zelenskyy. Now I hear his minions are saying Ukraine should stop rebuffing Trump's blather. It's not nice to upset their Autocratic potyus. 😂
Nice to see Aussie bipartisan comments saying "Russia started the War"!
Even blind Freddy could see that. Those who perpetuate the lie must live in La-La land, as they do.

As for the Chinese strutting their naval power with live ammo in the Bass Strait, it's just a deliberate show of force by another lot of children posing as adults.

Very dangerous children Terry. They have the wolds largest Navy. Have we complained to the Commie ambassador over this clearly provocative act?
Penny Wong said they were in international waters, albeit an economic exclusion zone. As they weren't fishing it seems legal, if provocative.
To complain might be rebutted by our and other nations sailing and flying through the South China seas, which don't belong to China anyway. A bit of tit-for-tat?

They have since conducted live fire drills in the Great Aussie Bite. That is a major provocation.😡
