Re: Williamstown and District Cricket Association (WADCA)

footscray ana, i had the pleasure of watching some of the lower grade synthetic cricket recently, where i spotted some great talent in your younger ranks. Of specifics, a young boy who made 75 or so showed amazing potential. I have also noticed a young spinner of yours, who also opens the batting. Both seem to be fine examples of your depth as a cricketing club. congratulations on this. It is really important to nurture young talent, and if u dont want them u could always send them to us, particularly that spinner.@|

That would of been our fourths in the churches. The youngster that made 75still plays in the under 13 grade. The young spinner is only in his second yea crciket, still learning and plays in our under 17's. Just needs to work on his consistancy and could find himself up the ranks this year and hopefully crack a turf game or two. Our fourths was set up a couple of years ago to give the under 13s & under 15 a go to play senior cricket and the chance to play with their dads. They have been beaten in every game this year, though they are keen as, they almost live at the nets at Angliss.

Kids that played two seasons ago, have taken up spots up the grades which is great for the club and thanks must go to Darren Webb for comming up with suggestions and for taking care of the side for the last two years.

How have people rated Bryan Lawry this year?

Surely he would get picked for A turf, considering lavo arent winning many games?

Re: Williamstown and District Cricket Association (WADCA)

bryan lawry will not play a turf for lavo. never will.
he has played the last 2 season in a-Turf and was dropped for both final series.
thats why he is playing C-turf.

and i dont understand how no one has picked rams to be in the c-turf final? are equal on top and lookin really good.

Might be time for him to look elsewhere, obviously his good enough to play first.

Not sure about Rams, depends who goes up to the first to fill the holes. With rams having no chance making finals in the ones, depends what the club does in selection after xmas.

Re: Williamstown and District Cricket Association (WADCA)

nah im close mates with a guy from rams. inside word is that they are keeping roughly the same team. all the indians are young, so i guess thats the future.
apparently they are slowly improving. just need to hold their heads. they get to 20 then go out

Have the indians crossed over from another club? Only remember playing against some older ones last year.

Re: Williamstown and District Cricket Association (WADCA)

not entirely sure. pretty sure they havent played club cricket in australia before.
will find out when newport has that game on australia day
australia vs india.
they invite the best cricketers around the comp to play for australia. and the indians get players from all over for the game

Re: Williamstown and District Cricket Association (WADCA)

Results rd 8

A Turf- Gellibrand 140 all out , ANA all out for 109.
Very disappointing effort considering were 5 for a 100 at one stage.

B Turf- Gellibrand 164 , ANA 4 for 177

Any other Scores?

Newport Digman A + B Turf had good wins over WyndhamVale.

A-Turf made 166 after being 5/34 then bowled them out for 110
B-Turf too string, bowled them out for 86 and then got them easy.

Re: Williamstown and District Cricket Association (WADCA)

Rd 9 A Turf Tips

GU to thrash Rams
ANA to beat Willi Imps
Colts easily over Hoppers
Digman to beat Gellibrand
Wyhndamvale to beat Lavo

Any one know who made the next round in GU' twenty 20 comp?

Re: Williamstown and District Cricket Association (WADCA)

Rd 9 B Turf Tips

Point Cook to strong for Wynhamvale. Point Cook bowling attack is even stronger with the 2nd Semmens brother playing.

Deerpark Ardeer should get the points over Lavo

ANA to beat Willi Imps

Colts to beat Hoppers, though upset could happen if Hoppers can post a competitive score.

Digman to beat GU, though with the inclusion of a couple new GU players, makes it interesting.

Very interesting race for the final four in B Turf. A loss by 4th place in the comming round can see them tumble down to 7th.
