Australia in New Zealand

Re: Australia in New Zealand

White has a brain-melt and Australia are now 3 for 46, at least Watson is still there.

Re: Australia in New Zealand

Poor form appealing like maniacs when the batsman obviously hasn't hit the ball.. again.

Ponting copped a shocker, LtD will be frothing at the mouth ;)

Too right I was, and I wouldn't I be?

Ponting missed that by a mile; It was one of the worst umpiring decisions I have ever seen.

It was a disgrace, plain and simple.

It would have been a ripper contest: Ponting V Bond - and the punter was fired out by a guy straight out of texas.

Loved Ponting's reaction, stood there with a massive smirk on his face then laughed with the NZ players, as if to say, "**** this guy is clueless".

Voges was then fired out as well with a fresh air shot.

Ponting's was truly a deplorable decision, there are bad decisions, and then there are deplorable decisions that really make you sit and wonder.

This one was well and truly one of those.

Re: Australia in New Zealand

Bond also had a massive smirk on his face walking back after Ponting's dismissal. Haddin is also bad for stupid appeals, an enthusiastic enquiry is one thing but jumping around/throwing the ball in the air and screaming like tools when you know the ball missed the bat is very poor from any player.

Re: Australia in New Zealand

Well done kiwi's, good performance against the number 1 team, their ratings are boosted a bit more towards that number 3 spot.

Re: Australia in New Zealand

What sooking?

Ponting was robbed, his my favourite player, im therefore going to be pissed off.

Hell, the Bond V Ponting battle was going to be a ripper, one all true cricket fans would be up for, yet it was scuttled after one ball by a gun slinger straight out of Texas.

I put an * against that win by NZ, Voges and Punter were fired out, and that ruined our chase.
This sooking.

Do you have asterisks beside any of Australia's wins in the last few years? Because most assuredly we've got the benefit of plenty of decisions equally as bad.

Swings and roundabouts.

So we are ment to excuse shit umpiring by saying it's "swings and roundabouts"?
No. Let's put it this way - when's the last time you said that one of Australia's wins deserves an 'asterisk' because we got the benefit of dodgy decisions?

It cuts both ways.

Re: Australia in New Zealand

Many people put an * next to Australia's win at the SCG in early 2008.

Still, you would be hard pressed to remember a decision as bad as that one Ponting copped yesterday. It is even more perplexing when you watch the replay, the umpires appears to be looking towards the square leg umpire? Why?

It was a shocking decision.

Ponting also took the decision well, breaking out into a laugh at how inept that umpiring decision was.

As I have said earlier, there are bad decisions, and then there are deplorable decisions.

That decision yesterday was in the latter.

Re: Australia in New Zealand

Umpiring is a rather hard job. You should try seeing a ball correct to the mm at 145km/h while watching the bowlers foot. It's hard try it.

Re: Australia in New Zealand

Look, umpiring is hard sure, but so are a lot of other jobs.

Batting against bowling that quick is harder than umpiring, lets not forget that.
