Yeah, but Bucknor wasn't replaced by Rauf. Billy Bowden was Bucknor's replacement, and he has done a better job so far. Agree with you that the umpiring has been below average at times in this game. Rauf makes pretty poor LBW decisions at times.

This day has belonged to India in my opinion. The Indian tail didn't wag in the morning but they came back strongly with wickets. All the bowlers chipped in with wickets and they managed to bowl Australia out in just 50 overs. India are off to a reasonably good start in the second innings as well. India have a good lead of 170 runs and with 9 wickets remaining they will be aiming to add at least 200 to that lead. I expected Jaffer to fall before close of play. He hasn't been in good form and this was his 8th consecutive failure at the international level. I think India need to start looking for other options.

what a great day for india....kumble got the 600 wicket and a very important wicket too...everyone was saying that india would struggle but opposite has happend...tomorrow sehwag has to make big score to get a permeant place in team..

Yeah, except Billy 'Hey Look At Me' Bowden has always been a good umpire, even if he is a bit of a tool. I think there needs to be an over haul of world umpiring

But a good day for India, good all round performance. Looks like ill get to see the Little Master bat tomorrow. hopefully he can peel off a cool 50 in quick time. Then i get to see Jaques bat at the end of the day, but that really doesnt seem very likely

Seems like Australia may once again falter in pursuit of the 17 consecutive wins.

Come on India! I can see this turning out very close as the australian batting lineup fails twice in a row once in a millenium.

Australia have picked up 4 important wickets this morning. The Indians are in big trouble. I think if India doesn't get a lead in excess of 350, Australia will have a good chance in the match. It seems that this pitch has become better for bowling on Day 2 and Day 3.

Big trouble for India. Why we always manage to slip from great position I cant understand. I hope that its the effect of the pitch and not just poor batting. We should get at least more 75 runs somehow to set a challenging score. Dhoni needs to prove himself now but in these conditions I only hope he can make more than 10 runs.

This partnership has allowed India to make a comeback in the game. Laxman has played a very crucial knock. Its a very important innings for Dhoni too and he has done well so far. It looks like a difficult pitch to bat and India needed one or two batsmen to make decent scores. Laxman and Pathan have provided that. A lead of 400 looks possible now and should be a match winning lead for India. Just 50 runs to go now.

As I post this, India have lost 2 quick wickets. 400 doesn't look possible now. Laxman should try to keep as much strike as possible now because RP Singh and Ishant Sharma are hopeless with the bat.

I think everything above 350 is bonus. Both team have struggled for batting. It wont be easy for Australia to chase 350. Pathan and RP will be key bowlers.

I agree to a certain extent. If the Indian bowlers bowl well, 350 should be a good enough total to defend. I think a target of 400 has more to do with psychological advantage. India will feel safe as a target of more than 400 has rarely been chased. Kumble will also feel more comfortable in setting attacking fields if India has 400 runs on the board. But if India has to reach there Laxman needs to do most of the scoring. I can't understand his tactics of exposing RP Singh to Lee and Tait.

the lower order is doing good this time.....india done very well to reach almost 400 after all the best batsmen failed....i wanted to see more of dada batting but clark bowled good to him.....laxman is playing special knock against australia again!!!...400 is very close now

Laxman has saved the indian innings.He reached 1000 runs against australia in australia. This can be a match winnings innings from him. The lead is now more than 400 :D The lower order has done superb job. I am very happy after we came back from losing Dravid, Sachin and Ganguly so early.
RP singh is out but he has already done his job.

laxman always is the hero against australia....irfan pathan made good runs too....he was only night watchman but he scored more runs that top order batsman.....rp singh and dhoni also made good few runs.....this is good batting performance on perth where everyone thinks india will loose....now australia has a big target of 413.....we should win the match.

RP Singh played a handy little innings. The lower order chipped in with some pretty valuable runs. India have set a target of 413 and it will take something special from Australia to chase it. They have over two days to chase it, but its not going to be easy.

Zee News is so stupid. They are saying that Australia have more than 2 days so it will be easy to chase 400 runs. They dont understand its the 4th innings and the pitch is not easy for batting. I am going to never watch that stupid channel again. It will be a special achievement if Australia chase 400 but I will never forgive our bowlers if that happens.

pathan is bowling so well....great start for india....both the aussie opener are out....i dont understand why pathan was not playing in the last 2 games....was he injured?????

This one is going to the wire i think the runs are in indias favour but the time is in the aussies. Atleast we're almost certain to see a result.
