I think the conditions will be in favour of batsmen in Adelaide. India have a good chance there but they should stay focussed now. The aim should be square the series 2-2. It will be a great achievement if they get there.
yeah adelaide should be good for batsmen and help our spinners too. india has the momentum i think. we did well in sydney too. it was a great competetive match. australia needs to make some changes i feel. johnson hasnt been too effective. and tait failed miserably too. hogg and hayden if they play will provide a lot of strength to the australian team.
Well played india a few lucky decisions in there but it happens in cricket. Sharma and Pathan bowled well. I think had hayden been playing then it may have been a different outcome but well played india!
australia didnt have hayden and we didnt have zaheer. both the teams were not at full strength. we also didnt have sreesanth. hes a idiot and leaks runs in odis but good in tests. this isnt our full strength bowling lineup and im surprised that they have done so well throughout the tour. australia have managed just one 400+ score so far and that was thanks to a lot of umpiring mistakes.
Kumble said this is the best win ever for his career http://content.cricinfo.com/ci/content/story/332292.html
Well he wasnt in the kolkata match so I think after the kolkata win this was one of the best. The whole team contributed in the match. Only Dada and Jaffer didnt do much. I hope Sourav makes a lot of runs in the next game. Jaffer is never played consistently. We should get Dinesh Kartik instead of Jaffer in the next game or Pathan should open the batting. Otherwise we will get bad starts.
The win in Kolkata was more due to individual brilliance while this was a team effort. I'd rate the win at Kolkata higher because India made a Very, Very Spectacular comeback in that match. Its not often that you win after following on. This was a special win because India were 0-2 down and Perth was supposed to be the place where India would be decimated.
I don't think opening with Irfan Pathan is the right idea. Either Karthik or Jaffer should open. As Jaffer has failed in the last 4 games, Karthik deserves a go.
Poor, poor Mitchell Johnson. Takes career best figures and scores his maiden Test 50, and it all happened in a losing cause. But as his average suggests (99 even), could Mitchell Johnson become the next Bradman? You decide!
And as for missing out on 17 straight wins, all i have to say is sometimes records aren't meant to be broken. Shouldn't Steve Waugh be remembered as the better captain? He was, in all honesty a better captain than Ricky and I for one am glad that his record remains intact
pffft
ur a young nd hopeful
mitchell johnson the next bradman hahaha lol
and steve waugh a better captain than ricky ponting??
ricky ponting is a legend
no captain has or will ever be as good as him
No, I'm afraid virtually everyone will agree with me that Steve Waugh was the better captain. And thats taking nothing away from Ricky. But it was Waugh that gave the Australian team a toughness, never-say-die, always go for the jugular brand of cricket that we know, though not necessarily love. It was Waugh that gave you the cricket you know nowadays, he virtually invented it.
Ricky Ponting may be better on paper, but Waugh is simply better because of what he did for Australian cricket, if not the world game.
And as for Karthik for Jaffer, i would have to agree. At least to see how well he performs with Sehwag
id say its debatebul but its what the captain has done to the team not his scorecard
ponting has lead us to many victories but i guess its not that hard with the australian team lol
u got phil jaques and hayden to open then ponting, hussey, clarke, symonds, and gilchrist i mean like what other team has a strong batting order all the way up to number 6?? lol
and our bowling?
brett lee, stuart clark, mitchell johnson, brad hogg? And when tere tired u can bring in symonds and m.clarke
i mean lol its not that hard to captain aussie to victory
India dropped Jaffer in favour of Harbhajan Singh. Opening with Pathan is not a good decision but that's the sacrifice India had to make if they wanted to play 5 bowlers. Harbhajan hasn't done well in this series except dismissing Ponting a few times, but you could say that Harbhajan and Pathan combined can act as the 7th batsman.
Pathan should not open it is not a good decision. how can a number 7 batsman become a opener. they should let him bowl instead of putting pressure of opening on him. Dravid was batting so slow today i knew he would get out. Sachin is going good i hope he can improve his poor record at adelaide.
India are in a lot of trouble now. Laxman and Sachin need to build a big partnership. The decision to play 6 batsmen instead of 7 may backfire on India.
39th Test century for the master blaster. Great way to score a century with six and four!!!!!! He is playing great aggressive shots. India has done good recovery with this partnership. They should keep continuing. I hope Dhoni scores runs he needs to make a 100 because his place can be in danger.
Congratulations to Sachin for yet another century. But I am disappointed with the team performance. We need to score 500 runs but we lost too many wickets. Sehwag was unlucky to get out on a big no ball. The batting is still not good. Opening with Pathan is not the right move. Dhoni is playing slower than Dravid. All batsman that played slowly like Dravid and Ganguly got out early. Dhoni has to score some big runs in this match. I hope the 5 bowlers can put Australia under pressure if we have to win the match.
