definately back to 80 overs each in 1st innings, but unlimited in 2nd innings. previously has been side batting 2nd never got the remaining overs if the 1st side was bowled out, but that has changed now

i think its easy to see who hasnt played in a grand final for a while. im one of them.

Interesting also that steggles hangs ******** on someone for coming from Avoca. I think Steggles comes from Creswick, a town that is a living shrine to the mullet. Must be why he fits in well at East.

Also still some tension from Darley about Mount Clear. I think wise man said look out when things don't go their way. Well I think you'll find that things weren't going their way on Sunday and they won against the odds so a little harsh there.

Maryborough, ******** stain. Which is why myself and chris had a good laugh at our 'predicament' on the saturday. Banners was included in this joke as well, it was all quite light hearted, along a similar vein as my post.

Ok my bad. But if it was a joke and you are mates with these blokes why bother with the post at all. I don't think many people try to humiliate their mates on internet forums. Maybe the cheap laughs you get from your East team mates will make the loss go away.

not your bad at all napisan.....he is full of piss & wind. avoca plays in the pyrenees comp, maryborough in the maryborough comp. he doesnt know chris from playing him at all, just pretending that hes mates with all the boys from naps, when the truth is, he is friends with f*ck all of them. banners just, thats it.

playing against someone doesnt make you a friend, with exception of your little imaginary friend wrighty, he still loves you dearly & will snuggle into bed with you tonight & keep the monsters from getting you....

Re: Ballarat Cricket Association

Query number 2 - i normally hassle the rules king Adrian Irv with these queries because the rule book is japanese to me but Irv's email is giving me the out of office reply treatment so.......

with this new ridiculous 12th man can play rule from 2nds down does that mean a player can come straight off the interchange and bowl or does he need to be on the ground for the same time he was off the ground before he can be introduced into the attack?

That is 100% correct. i believe the reason was that the association thought it was a bit unfair on the team batting second in the grand final under the 110 over format.

Their logic being that if the team batting first is good enough to bat out 110 overs, then they would have a little period before tea on Sunday of 10 overs or less to have a crack at the openers of the team batting second.
Then off for tea and the bowlers would still be very fresh for the rest of the day, then close of play.
Then an entire week for the bowlers to recover and another fresh crack the batting team.

i guess it makes sense to have it at 80 overs if for no other reason than that is what we play all year. but if that is the logic then why the second innings?

i don't mind the idea of if you are good enough to make the grand final that you deserve 2 cracks at the title over 2 innings but i also think it is not as fair as the top 2 teams getting a second chance as Waka05 had stated months ago.

What are people's thoughts on the Cleary Medal tommorrow night. Who is likely to finish top three?
Best poll getters from each club?
My Guesses for what it's worth:

Mounites: Fletcher, Young
Naps: Scott, Ringin A
Wendouree: Johnson, M. Skinner
Easties: Yates, Simpkin
Point: White, O'loughlin
Redan: Whinny, S. Allan (not sure who else)
Darley: Steenholdt, A.Blake, Parker
Coronet: Burns (unsure)
North: cations (Unsure)

Brown Hill not worth a mention?
johnson will get a lot of 3's early and may sneak in for 1 or 2 late to win it from White, Steenholdt & SteveO

I think this should answer your query Rider another paste from the bca website.

24.1.2 A player who arrives late for the start of a day’s play in any match (1,2 or 4 days), can bowl straight away provided he has taken the field prior to the tea adjournment. However, if he arrives after the tea adjournment has commenced, he cannot bowl for the rest of the day’s play. If a player leaves the field or does not return after an interval, and is off for more than fifteen (15) minutes, he must make up that time before he is allowed to bowl.

Ok Rider can you name every East player that has a chip on his shoulder? If you know them personally that is? Most players get a sniff of the white line don't they?

you could start by standing around in a circle singing, "hello, my name is Joe and I work in a button factory" that would surely get the team motivated!

I am going to put a cat amongst the pidgeons here and predict an upset

1. Simpkin (It hurts to think this)
2. O'Loughlin
3. Johnson

Re: Ballarat Cricket Association

How are you the ballarat boys . have been enjoying the banter amongst your selves and it seems that not much has changed in the popularity stakes with paul Jeffries ( not sure if that is paul with 4 L ‘ s ) .

Having played against you lads for many years in the kenmac , country week and with some in the central highlands team , i had the pleasure to play against one of the true tossers of country cricket !

Is he still married to mcrae ???

How did he ever captain your association !!!!

Na Franky - don't really know any East boys off the field. Was casting a very general dispersion from times I've played against them and basing it on some cheap shots posted by 1 player on this forum.

but yeah I may have gone to far potting the entire playing list............ note to self. stay off Zumper when have had a few beers................

There was a Tribunal hearing last night. Apparantly the boys from Haddon have been misbehaving and maybe might have themselves a two year holiday from the BCA. Unfortunately my spy tells me it may not be good news for the mounties as well. "Jeffers" will definately miss this weekend with the hearing to be held tomorrow night.

Is anyone going to be running a book at the ej cleary tonight? They had a flyer going around at some of the footy counts and a couple of my mates lost a few bucks. It would be interesting to see the odds but johnson and white would be pretty close to odds on you'd think.
