Re: City of Moorabbin Cricket Association 09/10

Been reading this forum for some time now, i am a massive CMCA man and like to catch up on Gossip on here. I also like to see how past and present players are traveling that have been involved in our competition, one lad imparticular who i have had the luck of seeing play a few time is Luke Manders i have been following his switch from ESBC to Mordialloc.c.c.
I also noticed he didn't play on the weekend for his new home and in further inspection and some investigative work with a few of my sources i have since found out that Luke has been suspended by his club for the remainder of the season?
I am wondering if anyone else has heard similar stories about this young kid and if so is there a chance he might don the Whites for a return back to ESBC for some finals action?

Anyway i thank you all for the opportunity to jump on for my 1st attempt, feedback is more then welcome.:)

Re: City of Moorabbin Cricket Association 09/10

Evening All,

Army

Nice to have you back and let's hope it is on a regular basis just like the good old days!

Uncle Mick,

Got the board out and did a bit of web surfing and was very impressed with the website.Maybe the people behind the MJFWS could learn a bit.Did they ever reply to your job application to manage their website?

Do the intials GG ring a bell as the reported player.Vinnie is a week out as Campbell got done last round and I wouldn't describe him as huge like the GG.Not sure the promotion / relegation system is working too well down by the highway as many good BRC performances are going unrewarded!!Not happy Jan!!!

Vinnie,

Merl didn't get out of the Beemer to travel over the ground that's why I have you,Slim and many others to report back.In Merl's playing days it wouldn't matter how slow the ground was, he would just tonk it over the top!!

Did you and Burger kiss and make up and exchange thoughts on who the Merl mole could be hiding down there at the brick?

Gossip King

Welcome to the BCF I hope you enjoy your stay.Maybe the former run away leader of the BTC could shed some light on the suspension of young Manders?
Although I do recall seeing his name in some rep side as I was trawling the net one day!May not be enough games for him to get back into the jellies this season to qualify for the big dances.

I see the the BCF's very own B is again causing controversy by potentialy playing down the grades.I wouldn't get too carried away as sometimes when big name players drop down the grades they don't always get the job done. But our man can do anything so just watch this space!!

Enough of this I better have a look at the great Britain big hope on the telly to see if he can get the job done

See you at the Usain bolt Brick!!

until next time.............. vino sipping poster.............. Merlot

Re: City of Moorabbin Cricket Association 09/10

Merlot,

Parental duties are going well, and the young one is in excellent health... I have little excuse for being late with my BCF tips.

You are correct that Bentleigh ANA won the Battle of Glen Eira Twenty20 competition on the weeeknd. Despite being limited to the one ground (which is terribly slow), it was brilliantly hosted at Centenary Park by the Uniting boys on Sunday.

Starting at 10am, the first game was a 15 over per side match between West Bentleigh & Washington Park, with West Bentleigh's 118 being overtaken by the Washups with a six with only a couple of balls to spare. For the second year in a row, the most credentialled Longmuir side missed out on the final in a format you could say is their cup of tea.

The second game was around 12:30 in another 15 over per side clash between the hosts and our boys. ANA batted first and finished with 121 on the board, thanks mainly to the prodigal son Bill Biggs, and T20 specialist Stuart Cambpell. Uniting were looking very good, going at 10 runs per over, and didn't lose their first wicket until the score was on more than 60. Then ANA put the screws on, and held Uniting to 116 after the 15 overs, winning by 5 runs.

For the second consecutive year ANA was playing Washington Park in the final. In a proper 20 over match, ANA started terribly being 6/33 until Brad Dolman, Dylan Jansz & Luke Morrison got the innings back into shape, finishing all out for 114 in the 19th over. Washington Park were confident but before long they were 7/39, and never recovered, being all out for 84, giving ANA a 30 run win, and a second consecutive trophy. James White was the player of the tournament with 7 wickets from the two games, while James Coyne won the half time sprint.

As mentioned, Bentleigh Uniting did a great job, with the canteen & DJ. The support from all the clubs, to make it the great day it was, did not disappoint.

Next year on Australia Day weekend, West Bentleigh hosts the tournament at Victory Park.

Finally, a special thanks to Jimmy Olsen who attended ANA's Poker tournament on Monday night. The boys were a bit shabbed from Sunday's celebrations, so Jimmy capitalised to finish second overall.

To be fair to the West Bentleigh boys they were on the sauce and treating the day more as a social activity. A far cry from sides that were quite serious in their pre-match preparations.

I'd check your source Gk. I just spoke to the man in question and he assures me it was his decision to give cricket the flick. Another victory to women & booze.

Really uncle mick who ever you are.

Is that why he tried to play for Edi Asp last round and his clearance was blocked?
Is that why he played in the DDCA u/21's final today?
My understanding of the situation was that Mordialloc had enough of his behavior and lack of application and the final straw was his last game for Mordialloc with his on field antics where it was reported that basically every player in the side did not want to play with him again.

Alot of terms and names where thrown around to describe him which i will not repeat.

But i do give him credit for realising the writing was on the wall.

So Uncle Mick it is you who needs to consider perhaps you have been fibbed to or had the truth twisted to save a little pride?

Brett,
Is that you? You state that you have been reading the forum for quite some time and you are a massive CMCA fan and you don't know who Mick is? You hinted that said player may return to the Juggernaut and now you reveal that he sought a clearance to play with Asp-Edi? You seem to know a fair bit about what is happening down at Mordialloc.I would have thought that if he did not fit in to the mix at Mordialloc that they would have been happy to sign any clearance and let both parties move on. There is always two sides to a story Brett, and if he has not behaved appropriately then what has the leadership group done about it in the previous 8 rounds?

Re: City of Moorabbin Cricket Association 09/10

Well done, Clock. My old mate Suspicious Aloysius thought the child might be the mastermind behind the Gk moniker.
Luke was at AERSL for both weeks of the previous round and claims he lost his enthusiasm for the game playing at Mordi. Also thinks he'll be back at the Juggernaut in season 10/11.

Re: City of Moorabbin Cricket Association 09/10

Me Gosip King Pffft please, i speak to alot of people around the traps especially on FB these days and yes Luke is not at Mordialloc and some of what has been mentioned is true but some of it has been blown out of proportion. I don't think we should be commenting on the kid and i for one don't really want to as i like Luke and get along with him well. And i would like Gosip King to think about what he is writing as anything he types can be considered slanderous against him.

Re: City of Moorabbin Cricket Association 09/10

I thought they might've been your Rd.9 tips until I read the comment before them!

Gentlemen, for anyone who may be interested, HWCC are having a casino night this Thursday the 4th of Feb. The night consists of a poker tournament, crown & anchor, roulette and a simulated race meet (much like the Trackside tote you find in pubs) consisting of 7 races every half hour from 7pm-10pm shown on a big screen. There will also be a couple of lovely ladies without their tops roaming around to fetch your drinks.
Night will cost you $30 which gets you a bbq feed, $100 betting tokens on the races and $100 in chips for the crown & anchor and roulette. Poker will be a buy-in event. We'll more than likely have a happy hour or 2 depending on the numbers, but at $3 a can you can't go wrong as is. More details can be found on the following link to our website.

Re: City of Moorabbin Cricket Association 09/10

Evening All,

What a big day at the BCF and rumuors that the former leader in the BTC is Tasmanian and has two heads / identities seems to have divided the forum.I believe the BCF bosses have cautioned / weeded out any dual identities and when Burger finally tracks Merl down he will find there is only one Merl.

The GK is your typical stereo type Gen Y who like many others we will find out and expose.Maybe one of the Jammos could help us? Can't believe God's gift couldn't get things right down by the Mordy creek.

Also thought the pop gun may have found some new corks to load in the toy gun after the upset win!!!

Still to tally up the BTC but am not really game after a weekend of upsets / bad tips has destroyed Merl.

The full bottle with Merl's unique summation of the weekend's events is as follows:

The Merlot Full Bottle
A few questions were answered on the weekend but still no answer from Burgs and his quest!!
The Beach Boys were untroubled in accounting for the Golf club but the movie giant Warner was a touch unlucky not to bring up 3 figures.
Slim’s mob were stitched up by the talented but inconsistent tipless Brudes mob, and have now left them with a bit of work to do to ensure a double BBQ.
The B less machine had the ever consistent Park and Kinsella firing on all cylinders to send the ants back to their nest. B will not doubt be refreshed and put him down for a ton next week.
The battle of the millionaires down at the beach oops sorry I mean Victory Park in the one day slog fest saw the new millionaires squeak past the previous title holders. No reports if the new beach matched the new cocobana beach in Brady Rd but I am sure Jimmy will let us know!!Let’s hope the new boys can get it together and give the jellies a rare lost to put a cat amongst the pigeons just before finals.
The cocobana beach boys gave the jellies a rear guard fright after an early collapse and Britt was unlucky not to bring up the 3 figures just falling short.
Brighton Union didn’t have it all their own way and I see Moose had his statutory 5 over spell just like he use to when creating havoc at the Brick! I also see the prodigal son Bill Biggs has returned home to ANA and the big question is has he turned his back on district cricket and did his 1 match suspension have anything to do with it?
The Bluff Road Cup and a tipping disaster for Merl saw some unlikely results.

The jellies snatch an unlikely victory from the jaws of defeat with the irish mountain range with suspect catching verification getting them over the line!
Saul and one of the Jammos mob despatch the purple and golds to Quiney shield after the jellies leap frogged them into second last possie.
Vinnies mob where the great man did not get to handle the willow probably needed a bit more thrust from the sword as Burger’s mob seemed to be in control through out the day. I did pay a fleeting visit to the brick but the hat and sunglasses certainly kept me from exposure to the sun and Burger!!!
Merl’s own Cluden did it to him again by knocking off the oasis less front running Bott’s mob and just maybe they could be third man in for the BRC big dance honours.I see the mouth from the south picked up 4 valuable scalps in a game that went right down to the wire.
Congratulations to my good BCF friend Uncle Mick’s mob who now may get the sceptics to listen to the great man.On their day and with a full compliment they can beat anyone the problem is getting them on the park at such a small club. The hyphen got the job done with a ton while Campion and Corr provided good support.UM got no value for his subs this week as like Vinnie he wasn’t required to trek to the middle but would not doubt be delighted to have sat in the shade and see the best from the west get the job done! By the way they beat the October champions RSL!!!

The inconsistent ANA got the job done over the polictically troubled highway patrol with no doubt Stewy Campbell wielding his Big Bertha ( just like our new BCF member ) to get the job done at the royal King George!!Caterson and the evergreen Cedric Jansz no doubt contributed with support roles.

Haven't seen too many of Uncle Mick's critics come on and eat humble pie as the best from the west sent the RSL mob back to the bar.

Sugar well done on the early selections it must co incide with the early feeds.

Until next time let the healthy debate continue and Burger in the words of your great former Hawks coach just give us something!!

until next time................ vino sipping poster........... Merlot
