BMF,

You have been hanging round with your name sake and probably partaking in some of the product that has made him so big.

While not wanting to lower the high standards achieved of late let me set you straight on a few things.

The jellies have been paying players since Cantlon and Head were running the Bingo sessions to enable them them to pay the big bucks just as Wallett Park did to pay Whatmore 20 large.

They have lured players from other clubs to join the Foreign Legion on the famous one year contracts just ask Hiddlestone and Smith.

They pillaged Chelt Park by enticing Dallas,Duddy, and Jenkin to the point Chelt Park were destroyed.

I could go on but I am sure the other members of the BCF could fill the blanks with a few other stories.

So don't make me laugh, not that a jelly could , by saying you haven't paid the big bucks as your mob started it.

until next time................. vino sipping poster............. Merlot

Merl, I happened to miss this one earlier in the piece. I've taken particular interest in the pillaging of Chelt Park. If you look at the U/16 premiership side of 95/96 you'll notice that 3 players were at Chelt Park the year before and in their B side of that season, just half the side were Chelt Park bred juniors. The rest (which include the 3 you named above) were "pillaged" by Chelt Park who gave our then junior coach Darren Maclure an offer we at Highett West couldn't match and he took all the kids with him. We'd done all the work getting them to play cricket at Highett West and like a flock of lost sheep they followed their shepherd to Park Rd. Some might say a bit of karma.
At the end of the day those boys are still playing CMCA cricket and the Association is better for it.

Re: City of Moorabbin Cricket Association 09/10

Gents,

Just letting you all know that the 'Mike Smith Cup' will be on again on Sunday November 29th at 1pm.
Once again Omega will be taking on the Richmond Football Club in a 20/20 match.Sporting Memorabilia, Charity Auction and $2000 'last ticket out' draw.
Plenty of other attractions for the family including wine tasting, abseiling tower, jumping castle, face painting, showbags etc..

With the purchase of a $30 ticket you will have the chance to win a $2,000 Myer gift voucher and will be entitled to beer, wine and BBQ throughout the day between 1-5pm.

In addition to this will be the "CMCA Sprint" to see who indeed is the fastest player in the CMCA. For a $50 entry fee, one player per club will have a chance to win $500 for their club plus a fabulous trophy.

It's always a great day well supported by all CMCA clubs, and this year we're hoping it will only be bigger and better.

We also have 10 people Marquees available for the day.

For further details on the day contact Chris 'Dizzy' Smith on 0410 410 871
For further details on the CMCA Sprint e-mail Vinnie: vmica@optusnet.com.au

Always a great day OB.Just a point of order. Can you ensure that you have a decent starter; with a gun that works? Too many broke early last year caused havoc for some of the genuine chances.;)

Re: City of Moorabbin Cricket Association 09/10

Cheers Clocker,
It's already been organized so there will be no controversy.
No one would've caught Rayner last year fair start or not!
Hopefully he defends his title.

Archie

That boss of yours must be working you hard as you, ord bloke and a few others have provided nothing in the way of a post mortem.Sugar just because you are on the small screen is no excuse either.Ordinary you can get slim to help you as you both hail from the Brick.

Brett

You need to get your priorities right as you were the one offering advise and it's Weds night and we have nothing.

Uncle Mick,

Merl did not know the complete history as your good self does and it is no surprise that they leaped at the one year jelly park contracts and were happy to jump on the merry go round again.

They must have run out of ammo as all we have had this week are blanks!!!

Brudes

Merl did the hard yards for you and you have given us nothing surely you have a comment on the reports and lack of reports!!

Merl in his younger days would have given the cmca sprint a red hot go and probably would have taken the cash home. Not sure any of the BCFer's will line up this year.

Re: City of Moorabbin Cricket Association 09/10

There possibly could have been a few more reports out of that game (from both sides), but i don't want to dwell on what happened on the weekend. Just in general its starting to get a bit frustrating to be honest. Umpires approach everyone before the game every week and tell you how its going to be, then its warning after warning and nothing ever happens. Looks like it's back to the old days and it's a free for all.

It seems the boys from the Wild Wild West are feeling the pressure of expectation. I am reliably told their President took the field at the conclusion of the match in the previous match against ANA and started abusing one or two ANA players. No action taken despite it taking place in front of the umpires.Agree with you about the umpires, they need to start reporting players and enforce Baracks strict interpretation of player behaviour. The only problem is that too many umpires have been burnt in the past by the tribunal so they do not bother unless it becomes absolutely necessary. This again raises the issue of the yellow and red card.If a player receives a yellow card then they will be very careful as the next one would result in a Red card and they are out of the game. The Executive could then use the number of yellow cards to monitor a club's behaviour and then apply the appropriate fines. If anyone from the VTCA is reading please share with us how you find the yellow & red card system.

Re: City of Moorabbin Cricket Association 09/10

Merl, not too sure what you're expecting from me? Do you want me to elaborate on how the hell we lost to Elwood after having them 5/47? You know as much as me... the 2 Elwood boys played exceptionally sensible knocks, and our attack gave it everything for not much reward at Wattie Watson. We weren't good enough.

As for the West Bentleigh v ANA game, yes the WB President ran on the ground after the game and said a few words to our boys... however nothing that would be deemed as an 'incident'. The fact that no club made an official report highlights how relevant it was, so we can move on from that.

Regarding umpires, do you think the whole Krotofil v Pothitos episode last year has assisted in giving the umpires a CBF attitude to reporting players, when their evidence is totally discarded by the tribunal? Perhaps.

To be fair, they were 15 yrs old at the time. As most kids are at that age, they were young & impressionable and Maclure was a great junior coach who related well to those kids having a lot of success with them.
Dallas was always going to head back to ESBC given he started there and migrated to HW when they couldn't field a side in his age group. Coupled with the fact his boss was ESBC through & through it didn't take much persuasion to get him back. It wasn't long before the others followed.

Sug, I think he's expecting a post mortem across the grade(s), not specifically your side.

With regards to the umps and the tribunal, this yellow/card red card system is gaining more merit with each incident. Gentelmen Alex and a couple of his mates are alleged to have been involved in an incident the previous round with no report forthcoming.

Re: City of Moorabbin Cricket Association 09/10

merlot, or should i say neil harvey. if you dont know the history of the players why comment. when jenkins first went to east sandy he was playing in the thirds, wasnt until a couple of years later that he played in their ones. doubt the payed him to play in the seconds and thirds. As for hiddlestone, left le page to play with smith and was never payed. why dont you comment on hampton central, raped Moorabbin west after they played in a GF took their captain coach ( dwyer) comp best player ( may - who they paid good money for) and a couple more players. You need to get over this obsession with east sandy, its not healthy. You would think easts are the only club who have ever paid a player before. hope you enjoy seeing another gold cap flag this year.

Re: City of Moorabbin Cricket Association 09/10

Intriguing take on things considering Dwyer's played 19 of the last 20 years at Hampton.

Evening All as the mercury starts to drop,

If we all accept the reluctance of the BBQ's to report it will continue. It is time for action and maybe chairman/judge Phil can get on his youtube high horse and let his feelings be known.

Clocker

The BBQ's are gutless they are too busy charming captains to protect their weekly ratings as the rudderless BBQ ship has been inadequate since Rainey jumped off and the highly paid adviser has never seen a match yet!The accreditation program is virtually non existent and while the yellow card system has merit , at least Rainey got to most if not all Longy matches on a weekly or fortnightly basis something that does not happen now.

Sugar

You are a bad example as you are a regular contributor but I was trying to get more input from forumsters who either play or are on the spot to give us feedback on some or all games such as Merl's example.

In your case you could of told as Dagher was lucky with 3 dropped catches and 4 near misses in his cavalier batting performance or after losing 5 wickets they just gave you nothing.

Our current leader who blew Louis Armstrong's trumpet suggesting he would be able to give us all advise on who to tip is no where to be found!

Uncle Mick,

Thanks for the explanation of the Post Mortem but either the forumsters don't read all the posts on a regular basis or just don't understand that it is now strongly encouraged to PM or lose points!

The new alphabet doesn't quite understand that a forum is a place where people can express their opinion as long as they stay within the rules.Jenkin actually started at Omega and Merl will comment on whoever he likes providing he does not breach the BCF rules.

Milton

I hope you are not a monster, but a very good statistical point you make!

PDog

surely you are now sober enough to give us a post mortem on how you can be snapping at the leaders heels while keeping a couple of good tippsters in Uncle Mick and myself at bay.I await some of you wisdom.

Re: City of Moorabbin Cricket Association 09/10

exactly my point milton, bloke plays one year there and thens brings half the team back to hampton with him. not long after moorabbin are playing in woolnough, top effort by him.

Re: City of Moorabbin Cricket Association 09/10

Neil, i do understand the idea regarding the forum, but there is a difference between opinions and facts. you seem to be getting them mixed up. dont let a few truths get in the way of a good story though.

Fair enough. I suppose the reverse-poach is the risk you take when you poach then isn't it?
