I'd be hugely surprised if Dave and Bouncer aren't typing on the same computer!

Looking at Mycricket, it seems that a few of us were on the money. Maybe Deepdene a bit disappointing not getting closer to 10 points? Bulleen obviously far too good (if the NB are listening - don't shoot your mouths off and end up 8/40 in the 2nd innings of a game - it doesn't look good!). Mont Albert did what many thought they might do. Ashy/Mulg - strange game - perhaps very wet conditions? GI succumbed the way many people prredicted - maybe just wait and see how Deepdene bowled. Some interesting movements and Bulleen have clearly stamped themselves as the team to beat this year.

WOW !!!!! It's quiet in hear ? All the big mouths must have lost on the weekend ! I'm guessing they were from N-balwyn and Glen Iris........ 2 day cricket soughts out the good teams from the shit teams ! "I cant hear you" ???

Some of us have a life Bouncer, try finding one...

Canterbury/NB pathetic effort giving up 10pts,try put some value on your wickets,

Haw/ED must have been a good close game,

The boys at Mulg/Ashy on the xmas grog early,

Well done Skobs,6 hard earned points,

Looks like Iris lost the match but won day 2 against the bears.

Merry xmas to my fellow sledgers

We actually had a solid win! And one of the reasons why it was quiet was the fact that it was a Sunday, and most clubs had Christmas Parties to attend...

agree with everything there magpie, canterbury and NB should hang their heads in shame, especially NB because 215 shouldnt be a winning outright score in dunstan. cant on the other hand had a big total to chase but should have dug in 2nd innings.

disappointing to see ashy didnt have a crack at mulgrave, that would have absolutely broken mulgraves spirits, not sure what happened with that game!

skobs finally off the mark, good batting performance

hawthorn and east donny would have been the most boring game of the year i would think

Agree about Ashy. Will Mulgrave struggle against the better teams (ie Bull/MA) with an aging list? Time will tell, but they still have a lot of quality.

NB should def hang their heads - that's a disgraceful effort - good side or not. I'm not having a go at them individually, but as a group they need to be better than that or they'll be back in A Turf very quickly - anyone agree?

Cant obviously got pantsed by a good side - to make almost 400 and get them out twice in a day is a strong performance. Should be a good strong second half of the season. And a very close finals series. I think % could be tough on a few teams and anyone who can get 10 points at any time will be very happy at the end of the season.

Not sure exactly what happened with Mulgrave/Ashy, however I played out at Mulgrave a few weeks ago, and the local council workers were on strike, ie no one had cut the grass. It wasn't too bad on the main oval, but the other two grounds there, they were playing in grass that was up to their ankles. Perhaps another week or two and still no mowing...

Not sure how any team can lose 18 wickets in a day... A wicket every 4.5 overs...

Lads there are some murmurings that there will be another reserve day on either Australia Day or a Sunday in Feb. i don't see why this can be a bad thing. We are here to play cricket afterall. What are peoples thoughts about playing on Australia Day? its a wed by the way.

From what I've heard all North Balwyn's training is based around getting a six pack and tanned arms for a night out. More worried about their night out than standing up strong and avoiding outright on Saturday.
I hope for them the break will do them good and they can bounce back after the break.

i would be all for that, would prefer the sunday in feb though i think, australia day is sacred to drinking beers and watching cricket, maybe some backyard cricket, but no real stuff, my vote is sunday 13th feb

Prem Cricket stopped playing Australia Day a couple of years ago. A Sunday would be the best bet.

so if there is another make up round it would be round 6.

ashburton vs canterbury - after canterburys belting by mont albert, ashburton would have been disappointed they didnt get a crack at them
richmond city vs glen iris - glen iris could help their finals cause by beating the bottom side
mont albert vs bulleen - cracker
deepdene vs east doncaster - the bears would win this easily
hawthorn vs mulgrave - mulgraves chance to get back up the ladder
north balwyn vs skevs - could be an ugly game, loser will go down

biggest surprise of the season so far? ashburton being second, glen iris starting well or mulgrave being 7th?

Ashy 2nd isn't a surprise - they've still got quality and a pom who's pretty good apparently. GI maybe, but one dayers throw up strange results - they beat MA, for God's sake. Mulgrave maybe, but there hasn't been much cricket, so there's a glut of teams in the middle - so there truly could be some mid table madness come Feb!

Ashy will win
RC v GI who cares, but for argument's sake let's say GI
MA v Bull - agree whould be a good game - neither team great at 1 dayers, so too close to call?
Deep v ED - Deep - how can i tip against us?
Haw v Mul - good game - maybe Haw
NB v Skevs - Skevs easily - 1 day / 2020 specialists

About Prem Cricket - for those who know, where does ECA stand in the Prem Cricket landscape? Is it up to District 2's, 3's, 4's? Would the best players make it at District 1's level? Parsons was a good District 1's player, Danny O'Shea has made a good fist of it. Would a Bradley or a Tongue make it at 1's level? Swift obviously played 1's for a long time but he is somewhat larger now, so he might struglle going back. I don't know the answers, but I think some people might have an opinion on it all.

I would think that Dunstan would be closer to prem 2s. when did parons stop playing district? oshea is young isnt he, so could play a fair bit of district cricket by the looks, has bradley not played district before? tongue would make 1s i would think, definately a good 2s player if not. swift played long time ago so couldnt see him going back, what about tuckett, porter and judd, could they crack 1s again if they went back?

Dunstan today would be mid range 2's. About 5 to 6 years ago, I would have said some of the top Dunstan teams would give some of the lower 1's sides a run for their money.

I think Tonguey played a season or 2 at the Magpies in their 2's, but this would have been about 6 years ago and has defiantly improved. Doggy would be fringe 1's. Bradley has never played District!

I think they probably would, but it's so hard to say when guys get a bit older. I don't think Bradley played District, but I could be wrong. O'Shea is still young and has a huge amount of talent, so he will have a long time in the game.
