Have heard that along with 'Nifty' Neville Taylor hanging up the boots, Heath 'Small man syndrome' Karlson has gone bush to captain/coach. Won't bother St.Andrews, they'll just 'acquire' some more handy players. So they should be up there again.

With Callum Appleyard coming back from O/S the Redbacks attack will be bolstered, but we all know they'll make the semi again and do the big choke. If Tarek 'Moneybags' Moughanie remembers he has 10 others playing with him they might just be a chance.

Bring on 07/08

yep agree st francis will be up there this year the likes of babo not having a good year last year he will be keen to have a massive season and will be the X factor!

Well according to the write up in the local paper during the week 'Bam Bam' is staying put at St.Andrews. Might have got a pay rise!

Re: mmvca

Gradings are out.
'A' Turf has not changed from last year.
'B' Turf changes include: Socials and Barkly St up and Haig Amateurs relegated, New club Sunshine YCW.
'C' Turf changes include: St Marys and Ascot Vale putting their seconds on turf and Sunshine YCW. 11 teams = Bye
:)

Still delay on fixtures due to Moreland council not finalising grounds|@

Great work bomber27. Smart move by the league to put Sunshine YCW to B-Turf as they have been struggling in B1 VTCA ( shocking standard) .

Re: mmvca

Heard Sunshine Heights will really struggle this year. Due to the loss of 6 or there abouts young turf cricketers(4 of which played A turf including an opening bowler). Also lost a handful of handy lower grade cricketers.

Must have recruited a few players from the subbies surely if they are going to have any improvement. As for kunesevic just dont bowl to his pads :)

Dan Ward is that the bloke that played @ Altonia?

Daniel Ward has been at Glenroy Amateurs / Glenroy since 2001 and was appointed coach last season. Don't know where he played his cricket before then. Wardy would be in the top 5 bowlers in the comp.

Thats probaly due to appointing Sammy Kandage as their coach.

Heights lost a good group of young kids. Talented and it will come back to bite them. They feel that they should finish in the top 4. Sammy has brought the 6 new Sri Lankan lads , so in total 9 will play first grade.
However, what will happen to Heights if or when he goes? They will lose all these players and the good bunch of lads they had. I personally think the players that he has brought in are not good enough. But we will wait and see. 1 week till we find out I guess. :)))))

If it is the same bloke, Dan Ward was a good bowler in Subbie level.

Luke Perry would be that opening bowler just interested in playing cricket with his mates from now on. Your also right about James Rhodes he is not much chop.

As someone who has known Dan since he was playing juniors I can tell you that he has played all but 1 season at J P Fawkner Reserve. Pre merger (Glenroy and Glenroy Amateurs) he played all his juniors and seniors with Glenroy Amateurs (VTCA). Post merger he has played with Glenroy (MMVCA). As an 18 year old he tried his luck down at Essendon for a season.

Coached against heights junior team last season, had some good talent in the side, those losses are hard to replace.... Will hurt them in the future as its hard enough to attract junior kids let alone find some with talent...

A Grade fixture up on assoc site.

Thanks Unco.

Just had a look at our draw and very happy with it. Dont have to travel to Barky St, St Marys or Sunshine.
Up until Xmas only play at Hallam Reserve and Cole Reserve.
Socials first up. Can't wait.:)

Re: mmvca

B Turf, A, B and C Non Turf also up.

Thought we wouldn't get them until Tuesday or Wednesday.

Don't mind Barkly St, St Marys and Sunshine. Because they're good batting decks they tend to have a bit more bounce and carry. Prefer them far more than Cole 2. Too small.

Notice Barkly St are listed to play at Monk Oval. The MMVCA site lists this as a Non Turf ground. Has there been an upgrade? Is their ground from the last few seasons still being worked on?

Re: mmvca
