Re: NMCA(formerly Jika) '08/'09

Guys get with the program.....forget the he said this, he said that.....I heard the mobile conversation......conspiracy theories always abound.....

Here's my view

1. the NMCA made a call to turn up...you turn up!
2. As the game is underway it is under the control of the umpires, not NMCA officials...see Laws of Cricket - Law 3 The Umpires.
3. Exec Drinking.....paid or unpaid....come off it are you all wowsers....barring Bill all of them are volunteers so let's not be critical, I suspect Bill does over and above what he is paid for as he is passionate about the game, Sports Admin isn't well paid at local level......Bill umpires from my reading so on Saturday he is engaged as an umpire, not as NMCA Administrator...therefore if his game is off...he is off duty...he is not working 24/7 for NMCA...let the man have a beer.
4. Personally surprised how many played...thought the run ups and outfields would not have been safe....but if you have to attend you may as well play

We have beer police for NMCA officials now....geez what about all the morons at clubs making comment whilst under the influence, or having a drink at a committee meeting....or your non playing club officials on match day?....No Double Standards please.

My game in "A" Reserve was cancelled as the umpire (solely) suggested conditions weren't up to it and the captains uniformily agreed no point hanging around to see if we would get a start, and we were chasing a big score....saw the Captain of the team crack a beer when he arrived to watch the 1's.....my god is he still on duty!!!!

Yep...great to spark the posts....but think about it....some of you just show how moronic people post without thought or appropriate input.

Bring back John Browne before the world ends.....

I see that there will be a new NMCA board for new season, cause everyone is so upset, that people will be knocking each other over in the race to "run the comp the right way"......

you bag the previous admin and the current admin, will you ever be happy?? why dont you put your hand up???

the previous admin had the comp running poorly with corruption rumuors rife.....the comp is now running pretty smoothly and if NMCA board members cannot have a beer or two whilst enjoying the local cricket, we are all really wasting our time....surely its not that serious(i dont think he was blind drunk, which would be unnacceptable). I would suggest if he were umpiring he would merely be filling in.....I would also suggest 95% of his work is done during the week and the other 5% would be repsonding to whinges on Saturdays!!!

play or no play on saturday, whingers will come, fact was it was day2 and it was a sensible decision to see what happens, that should always be the case on Day2...each ground is different.

Can you point out in my post as to where i bagged this admin????

All i'm saying is from what i have heard Bill Anderson was the one who reported Rosebank's Captain whilst being a spectator. So was he working or spectating???

Why did he report someone when he was watching on the sidelines whilst enjoying a couple of beers???

The problem's that happened at Main St and the reason most people are FRUSTRATED where directly caused from Bill not making IMO the right choice to abandon play.

How many people on here really think we would have played if it was the first week of a game............not me.

Duckman heres the thing, it wasn't the first week of a game! the objective of board is to get as much cricket played as possible, now if they say umps and players turn up to grounds and assess condition it gives teams a chance to play and look at the results mate plenty of games got completed!

Re: NMCA(formerly Jika) '08/'09

Bill, Bill, Bill we would appreciate it if in future you could refrain from any sort of relaxing on or during Game day's. How dare you and the board try and get results and give the teams that had a good 1st week the chance to follow up?

I personally think the whole "duty of care" and "OH&S" theories has turned us all into a big bunch of soft c@cks. We don't play if it's too hot, we don't play if it's too wet. Next thing we will be asking the quicker bowlers to slow down in case it hits us!

We are never happy when the results go against us but it is just PARK CRICKET so play if you want to and don't if you're not enjoying it.

Oh and FOURMORE loved batting whilst hail stones hit me in the face. I hope we have another game like that enjoyed batting in an inch of water took me back to the old beach cricket days out on a sand bar.

rosebanks case thrown out socials captain got 2 matches and i got 2 matches 4 calling umpire a weasel.had a interesting conversation with tribunal jason mcgann copped 4 weeks from tribunal 4 calling an umpire a cheat and it got downgraded to 1 week if he umpired a senior game which he didnt he did a junior game which tribunal was shitty with cause bill decided once again by himself to go against the tribunal.cheat or weasel wots worse.

Crusty, Paul. Just relalised who you were. I don’t have a problem with you thinking the ground is unsafe. Matter of opinion. But why have a crack at the umpire, why you? You say your Captain got two weeks so if he is running the show who are you to approach the umpires with your own personal opinion? You deserver your weeks because the matter was not yours to discuss, for once you should have kept your mouth shut.
As for Bill, let him drink and enjoy his cricket from the sidelines. The comp is moving forward thanks to him, why not be happy with him supporting the lower clubs, makes things interesting.

at least you have the courage to go out and bat in the inclement weather baz. some teams would have preffered to whinge with the umpire and hope he calls the game off. good stuff mate

Re: NMCA(formerly Jika) '08/'09

Just got the weather report for tomorrow.

19, overcast and possible scattered showers.

Call the round off now.

Once again they will be catering for some clubs if they don't......

It's too cold, it's wet, the rain will make my make-up run......

Oh me, oh my.......

Wayne Lever favoured certain clubs. Did you ever have a problem with that?
Which couple of clubs is Bill looking after?

Re: NMCA(formerly Jika) '08/'09

some unlucky sides after the weather last week. just seen some results and definetly wouldn be too happy. cant beleive a side would walk away from defending 500, poor form. probably not enough runs. ah well:p

Glad to see you admit you were wrong. Having umpired a few games as a finals fill in nothing annoyed me more than every player approaching me to give their opinion. Leave it to your Captain, that’s what they are there for and held accountable for. Hope you have apologized to the ump because it would not be a good situation they were placed in.
As for Bill I don’t think he is that full of himself to put his name on a medal and I hope we do merge, if he can get that going again he has my vote. He is a different kind of administrator to what we have had before but that isn’t a bad thing. Let him support teams like United and Druids, push other teams up instead of the 2 or 3 who have controlled the comp for years.
