Re: NMCA(formerly Jika) '08/'09
Guys get with the program.....forget the he said this, he said that.....I heard the mobile conversation......conspiracy theories always abound.....
Here's my view
1. the NMCA made a call to turn up...you turn up!
2. As the game is underway it is under the control of the umpires, not NMCA officials...see Laws of Cricket - Law 3 The Umpires.
3. Exec Drinking.....paid or unpaid....come off it are you all wowsers....barring Bill all of them are volunteers so let's not be critical, I suspect Bill does over and above what he is paid for as he is passionate about the game, Sports Admin isn't well paid at local level......Bill umpires from my reading so on Saturday he is engaged as an umpire, not as NMCA Administrator...therefore if his game is off...he is off duty...he is not working 24/7 for NMCA...let the man have a beer.
4. Personally surprised how many played...thought the run ups and outfields would not have been safe....but if you have to attend you may as well play
We have beer police for NMCA officials now....geez what about all the morons at clubs making comment whilst under the influence, or having a drink at a committee meeting....or your non playing club officials on match day?....No Double Standards please.
My game in "A" Reserve was cancelled as the umpire (solely) suggested conditions weren't up to it and the captains uniformily agreed no point hanging around to see if we would get a start, and we were chasing a big score....saw the Captain of the team crack a beer when he arrived to watch the 1's.....my god is he still on duty!!!!
Yep...great to spark the posts....but think about it....some of you just show how moronic people post without thought or appropriate input.
