Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe in Bangladesh

Re: Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe in Bangladesh

Sri Lanka have progressed on to 3/130 today.

All of the Sri Lankan batsmen have got starts but have been unable to go on with it so far. Prasanna Jayawardene was the first man dismissed by the captain Mohammad Ashraful for 28. Then in the next over Hossain got Warnapura for 27. Then Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene put on 68 before Enamul Haque jnr got Jayawardene on 22.

Currently Sangakkara is on 41 and Samaraweera is on 6 with Sri Lanka leading by 306 runs.

Re: Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe in Bangladesh

Sri Lanka finished up the day right on top at 4/296, an overall lead of 472 runs.

Dilshan is on 81 and Samaraweera is on 72. These two have put on 131 runs so far for the 5th wicket.

Sangakkara was the last man to fall who was bowled by Ashraful for 54.

Sri Lanka will probably attack for a session and then set Bangladesh an impossible target.

Re: Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe in Bangladesh

Shakib gets the first wicket of the day and Samaraweera is gone for 77.

Sri Lanka 5/312, an overall lead of 488 runs.

Re: Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe in Bangladesh

Dilshan was dismissed for 143. That means he scored over 300 runs for the test. A fantastic effort.

With 10 minutes until lunch Sri Lanka are 6/426 which is an overall lead of 602 runs. I'm not sure why they haven't declared yet. They obviously have nothing to do tomorrow. :p

Re: Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe in Bangladesh

Sri Lanka have finally declared at 6/447 giving Bangladesh a chase of 624 runs to win the match.

Kapugedera was left on 59 and Vaas on 20.

Hopefully Bangladesh can make a total similar to what they got in the 4th innings of the last match.

Re: Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe in Bangladesh

At Tea Bangladesh are 5/62.

Mendis has 3 wickets so far.

This is pathetic. Bangladesh should be kicked out of test cricket after this effort.

Simply not good enough, they are better than this.

Re: Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe in Bangladesh

Bangladesh have just lost 3/10 to be 8/155. Amazingly Dilshan has taken those 3 wickets.

Shakib has been the top score with 46 and currently Rahim is on 41.

Re: Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe in Bangladesh

Bangladesh were bowled out for 158 giving Sri Lanka a 465 run win.

Dilshan ended up with bowling of 4/10 off 4.2 overs after his tons in each innings.

Shocking from Bangladesh and questions must be asked about their position playing test cricket.

They aren't. Bangladesh are a terrible side, to score 465 runs less than your opposition is just an insipid effort.

I really can't see them going anywhere in the next ten years. They are just that bad.

Re: Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe in Bangladesh

Sibanda was LBW in the 14th over for 15. Unfortunately, it isn't known who got the wicket.

Zimbabwe have moved to 2/67 from 15 overs. Matsikenyeri on 26, Taibu on 9 with 2 fours already.

Edit: Shakib al Hasan was the wicket-taker.

Re: Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe in Bangladesh

Taibu cuts hard but picks out Mortaza at third man who juggles the catch at the second attempt. The dangerous Taibu is out for 18 from 19 balls and departs just when Zimbabwe were getting back on track.

3/88 in the 20th over.

Re: Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe in Bangladesh

Shakib al Hasan pulls off a stunning catch at mid-wicket, diving to his left one-handed, he takes Matsikenyeri's flick with ease. That's Naeem Islam's second wicket.

Two balls later, Shakib gets his second wicket too, balls turns sharply from around the wicket, Sean Williams only gets half forwad and is rapped in front, ball was hitting leg stump.

5/103 from 27 overs, Shakib and Naeem are doing a brilliant job of slowing Zimbabwe down.

Note: Cricinfo are having problems with their coverage and have only just sorted it out hence the quick skip in overs in the last few posts.

Re: Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe in Bangladesh

Keith Debengwa hits a return catch to Naeem Islam off a very ordinary long hop.

6/124, here's Prosper Utseya.
