My thoughts on the NW finals series.
Week1:
Melton vs Broady - Melton will get the job done, previously played them in a 20Twenty and did it pretty easy (chasing down 120 2 down in the 17th over). Harwood was also not there for that game, he may stiffle Broady's strength being their top order batting. Melton easy.
Kew vs Plenty Valley - Kew did it easy two weeks ago, but I've heard from some of the PV boys Kew had the best of the conditions. With PVs bowling attach and this weeks weather, they are a massive chance. However Kew's batting has been good all year (except vs Melton) and will get the job done this week. Kew relatively comfortably.
Balwyn vs Altona - Obviously the closest contest of finals week 1. Last time they met, in even conditions Balwyn skittled Altona early and chased the 125 fairly comfortably. Balwyn, however, is generally a good wicket and with the small square boundries, it does lend itself to batting. Toss of the coin, Balwyn at home.
