Jimmy

I assume the BIg M is me and yes I have been a bit proccupied of late but certainly no closer to exposure!! I seem to remeber a milk drink and a marathon carrying the same moniker!!

Haven't even had time to count the tips or do this weeks full bottle yet.

Just delighted to see the jelly twos still winless even chasing a mediocre RSL score. There inability to win is only matched by their inability to post on the BCF maybe the two are linked.

Did manage to catch up with my old mate Arch for a counter lunch and a few frothies last week.Quite a pleasant lunch that meandered into the late afternoon.

Pdog my spies tell me you are one of the Jamo's who I know nothing about.Like Merl I didn't really care who you were I just couldn't find you in any of the dog park teams showing a single digit score playing his first game of the year.

Have driven past millioaires row ( aka Victory Park ) which look great from the road but I have a suspicion that it has some of that sand that has turned Lake Centenary into Centenary Cocobana Beach.

Slim and Vinnie would be still drunk after depatching of the millionaires and who knows where they would be if they hadn't stumbled against the Jellies.Slim has scored just short of 300 runs which is a fair effort for a so called basher.Looks like Vinnie wasn't required as the born again D.Haw steered the good ship Omega to an easy win.

Clocker

Not like you to slip up on a statistical piece re iron gloves and son. Will put it down to the holiday period which was dull your great statistical brain.

Would there be any chance that Barrack & co could give us an update on the mitchell shield and other rep teams.I did see Barrack at a few of the games so he could personally give us a report on the MJFWS about how the CMCA teams performed.

I will count the tips and put up this weeks draw later

Happy hunting!!!

until next time ................. vino sipping poster............... Prof Merlot

Re: City of Moorabbin Cricket Association 09/10

CMCA 16's won the competion whilst the Under 14's (1) missed a spot in the finals and the 2nds made the semi finals but were knocked out.I think the Under 12's may have been beaten in the final. Not a bad effort though something like their 7th consecutive final appearance.A mini juggernaut! Phil Arnold does a great job with those kids.

Re: City of Moorabbin Cricket Association 09/10

Hi guys,

The Bentleigh ANA Cricket Show is now able to be viewed on the Bentleigh ANA Home Page by clicking here... Welcome to the Bentleigh ANA Website

Our kids in Longy are struggling to get some consistency. Big challenge against Union this week, with the new names of Hurlingham currently on fire. Hopefully we can play a part in 'shaping' the finals.

Two big events this long weekend also, with the big Twenty20 'Battle of Glen Eira' clash between ANA, Uniting, West Bentleigh & Washups, starting at 10am at Centenary Park. Hopefully the sand has settled. 2 preliminary games early on at 15 overs per side each, followed by the final around 3pm.

Also, ANA has its Poker Night on Monday the 25th. As it's a public holiday on the Tuesday we hope to get a fair turnout.

Indeed it was a big night Merl, but mainly for the fact that we were celebrating one of the boys 30th down at the 'banger'.

A great win by our Longy side, chasing 230 at the 'brick' is never easy but at the moment it's as quick as it's ever been,so the boys were quietly confident.
Again it was another solid opening partnership that lay the foundation. As Merl said Slim is thriving on opening again and is having a sensational year, as he combines with the kid (Bychkov) to give us something we've lacked for quite a few years.
Two vital partnerships brought home the points. Ferg and Beckett combining in a no risk fashion to add 88, and then ferg again with 'Trimmer' Riemers put on an unbroken 41 to steer us home.
Yet again Ferguson came through with the goods and hasn't been dismissed since Round 5, which undoubtedly makes him the form bat of Longmuir Shield.

Still the boys know they can't rest on their laurels as they have 3 tough games ahead.

In Wooly it was a must win and the boys delivered after a slow start. Hampton United were cruising at 0-60 but fell in a heap as our two opening bowlers cashed in. For Cruwysie it's become stock standard to see him take multiple wickets including that of Bell (3rd Ball) but up the other end we had the 'Mumbaii Express' making his debut in Woolnough. In his first year at the club after he rocked up to our opening match and wanted to be part of the club, he's graduated from our 5ths (F Grade) up too our Woolnough side and indeed had most of the bats jumping and hurting.
Chasing HU's 109 and with 17 overs to face on day 1, Dicko and Belly made our target seem like 250.But the experience of Hawry and 'Chris' Yanni held sway,as they put on 54 runs and we cruised to a 6 wicket win.

Amazingly we are still 5th but 3 points from 2nd and now have a date with Burger's boys down at the brick.

It's a week of Milestones this round down at the Ommers, as the legend himself Cruwysie notches up 350 games.
Also Dion Freeman plays his 200th, Jake 'Snake' Slucki 150 and Jimmy Feather 100.

Re: City of Moorabbin Cricket Association 09/10

Afternoon All on this bright sunny day,

The Full Bottle is as follows.

Slim and Fergie combined to leave the millionaires penniless again and just like the original wallett park money neither buys you happiness or premierships!!

The panthers with the tipless and sacked from the BTC Brudes gave the judges mob a touch up and it will be a few more years before the youth policy comes to fruition.

The Cocobana beach mob formerly the Lakers sent the ants back to the nest and will not look forward to taking on the BCF's very own B's mob this week as they sit nicely in second place on the ladder.

My beach Boys were a major disappointment and looked a bit washed up but have a chance to get back on par against the golfers this week.

The great pretenders from the highway didn't have it all their own way against the former Wallett park but the bullies got the job done and are making up the four in third place.

B's mob did the job on the golfers and it was good to see the oasis remaining Bott getting in the 90's but like Watto just missing a ton.Big brother would have been proud of you!!!

The two blues got the job done against the inconsistent ANA and are eyeing off second possy!!

The RSL kept the Jellies winless and anchored to the bottom of the ladder and heading to C Grade which will be wonderful!!

The champ's mob won the local derby against Saul & Jamo's mob but didn't have it all their own way from all reports.

Uncle Mick's mob are faltering as the season goes on and were easily accounted for by the premiership favourites from Widdop!!

Vinnie's mob got the chocolates against the pathetic purple & golds while Vinnie strode to the top of the BTC to join Jamo in the lead.

Merl's boys from William st could not handle the pressure of him tipping them and showed a few post Christmas cracks in the armour when Manakis P inspired the troops to a win.

The BTC tally shheet and rd 9 fixture is as follows with Vinnie and Jamo enjoying a 5 point buffer over Merl who has put in some stupid tips of late.

The other interest is if I can hold off the forner tearaway leader and the new Dad.Sugar no penalty as you have another young lady in your life which i must give belated congratulations to you and Mrs Sugar.

Brudes,Keajai,in the outa appear to have dropped out of the BTC along with the profanitist who was sacked.

Re: City of Moorabbin Cricket Association 09/10

As i no Uncle Mick im sure hes throffing at the mouth at how his teams has underperformed this year, expect Highett West to take down a few finals pretenders by the end of the year.
If Cludens bats dont stand up this week i cant see them playing finals
Can anyone tell me if Brighton Unions Woolnough team has any handy bowlers? their batting looks pretty solid.

Re: City of Moorabbin Cricket Association 09/10

You might be on the right track there Merl but which one is the question?? At one stage I think there was about 13 Jamo's playing at Districts might be a few less now!
Could come down to a few close games with the tipping comp. Interesting I tipped against Omega in Woolnough this week I'm sure Vinnie will tip them!

Pdog,

Of course I've picked us, massive game and one that we can't afford to drop seeing as the ladder is so jammed up.

Burger,

I doubt very much that Merl is from Omega, if he is then he's done a bloody good job disguising it from me!
I'll see you down at the brick tomorrow, this time not sledging you from the outer, but on the ground.

Good luck to everyone playing.

Re: City of Moorabbin Cricket Association 09/10

Hi all,
Archie is back after a long trip to the motherland over the break.
Merl, it was great to catch up with you for one of those long lunches last week, you're not too bad after a few of those top quality Merlot's, keep up the good work.
Its looks like another predicable final series ahead with the boys from Chisholm readying themselves for another challenge, Jonesy would be bursting the blue vein again just thinking about it.
Their challenge will come from only 2 teams, the hoops are finally getting value for money from their top line recruits who are finding form at the right end of the season, look out.
JGG will need to get into the heads of some of the vandals, and they still have a bit of work to do just to get a gig, if they get a chance, this may be the year.
In Wooly, its a bit more interesting and too early for Archie to predict, but i will suggest that if the hoops get a chance, and with some players to come back in the top 2 teams, they could take the cake and also eat it at the same time.
It was interesting to hear some old timers talking about the possibility of the 10 team top grade being back on the agenda at Baraks office, the reason i suppose is the performace of the golfers who have simply been outclassed all season, you can't keep having this situation occurring after winning promotion to the top grade, so they say.

Tips for this round as follows'

Longy.
Gold Caps ''just a training run''
Ommies '' keep surprising boys ''
Elwood ''running out of puff''
Union '' ana have been known to surprise the hoops on occasions''
W Bentleigh '' too much to lose ''
Machine '' need to get a middle order and find a decent spinner''

Wooly;
Hampton United '' i dont know why '' - gone maybe forever.
H Centrals '' need to stamp themselves now ''
Union '' this could be carnage at the George ''
B uniting '' last throw of the dice ''
Cluden '' are they a serious threat''?
RSL '' can um's boys play with some heart''?

Good luck boys;

Re: City of Moorabbin Cricket Association 09/10

Evening all,

Burger

It seems people know more about your poker hands than you know about me.

Have you and Jimmy been in deep discussion as he seems to think I am close to being outed out of the cricket closet? If you can find Archie who is not who everyone thinks he is, he can give you Merl's life history and the mystery will be solved!!

Apologies that I will not be at the Brick when my identity is revealed but i will be in sunny Perth. You and Vinnie have a drink for me as I will have a swan lager for you.

Vinnie we have meet but it has been many moons since I set foot at the brick as it is a bit out of reach for the beemer these days.

Barrack has returned to the aqua blue ranks after a lengthy absence to get a look at the poor state of affairs in the ranks.Just cannot work out why he didn't go straight into longy!!!

Jamo

I don't really care which one you are it is all just a game to me just give me better info so I can check out your batting prowess when you put the can down and stumble to the batting crease.
